This piece is all about the relationship that binds us to what we are.

Equilibrium- a condition of balance between opposed forces, influences, or actions. Have you found balance in life? Are you willing to acknowledge and accept the positive and negative attributes of yourself? We are presented with two ways to describe our behavior toward one another and how the world treats us - good and bad. These positive and negative forces are apart of our conscious make up and require our attentiveness in order to get the most from them equally. Human beings need some sense of harmony in order to operate properly in the here and now.

There are four levels of reality for the human mind to be immersed in. These levels can be distinguished by their individual brain wave frequencies. They are measured in cps (cycles per second) and usually range from high amp (low frequency) delta to low amp (high frequency) Beta. Each of these levels are very helpful to the human experience and offer a variety of social benefits ranging from a decrease in stress to personal insight. The discovering of brain waves and their relationship to our experienced reality is merely a scientific spin on the arcane knowledge of Self. Presented here are the four frequencies in cps, their names, and how they are associated with our daily lives.

The highest frequency is Beta registering at 13-30 cps usually during an active conversation, teaching or giving a speech. You are conscious and ready for work. Your logical thinking will be carried out at this level. The next is Alpha. From 7-13 cps this is a non-arousing state, quite possibly the meditative side of existence. The sub-conscious is in control here. Guidance from within can be found on this level or you might be tired as hell and have decided to relax. Any way you put it this is a feel good state. Theta which is 4-7 cps is representative of daydreaming, creativity, ESP, the out of body experience etc. Many people love and fear this level because of it being so close to a good sleep or what is perceived as death. The deep sleep is found in Delta, the lowest of all, registering at 1.5-4 cps. Within this sleep a loss of time can develop, which is more or less a result of the body being overworked. You may not have any dreams at this frequency or lower. All you can hope for is to awaken fully charged with a purpose.

The importance of these waves are that they represent a sense of harmony within our brain. Since the waves are from our mind they are ours to control. Properly channeled one can have direct control of his or her mental stability. We want to be able to find equilibrium amidst the four realities. The most important of these realities and hardest to maintain are the alpha and theta. Alpha is the subconscious level that guides us through our conscious world. By tuning into this frequency we become capable of making decisions that can benefit our whole selves and not just the animal in us. You want purpose on your side in Alpha. The focus is then sharpened and managed to a degree that allows for the proper use of your subconscious mind. Theta is your higher Self. The subjective and objective realms open up for you at this level. You are in the seat of your true Self and can become the master manipulator of existence. Also between the two of these frequencies resides the spirit of Earth which is said to resonate at 7.5 cps. Once this frequency is reached by the human brain oneness has been achieved. The Self is no longer in a singular sense of existence; all that is in the world begins to open up for your indulgence.

Balance must present itself on the outside and inside or else we might go insane. It’s just as simple as loosing one’s steadiness because of a lack of support. The support represents the positive and negative forces that come together to make up the fabric of the universe. We use pieces of each force to guide our being into a self induced enlightenment. However, we must avoid treating life as a buffet table. [The mind is able to sense its own destruction and if you are not careful it will let you know by inducing disease.] This self destruction is only possible because our outlook on reality’s balance/harmony is very lax except for when it’s convenient to the material side of life. When executing vengeance on each other humans act as if they are creating some sort of balance in the universe. This is a misconception on the part of man. To carry out such retribution as execution only sustains or increases the imbalance created by the initial act. We must come up with an alternate way of deterring unconstructive activity without resorting to any violence at all. In my opinion neither positive or negative behavior should be rewarded; they deserve only variations of acknowledgment. In response to negative behavior one should address it in the most positive way possible to reinforce the doctrine of a positive character. Positive behavior deserves a tangible response to ensure its repetitive application by the individual. Make sure you are a proper example when expecting any sort of behavior from an individual. In doing so you allow for harmony to flow from your being into another’s, reinforcing an even greater power from within, and solidifying the decision making skills in the world which we exist.

Unconsciously our body makes use of both sides of the autonomic nervous system (ANS) creating a sort of balance resembling the relationship between both positive, and negative forces. If it were up to our conscious minds heart attacks, panic attacks and seizures would be as common to us as laughing. Being unconsciously balanced is somewhat of a gift from the universe in our present state of mind. Like the perks of any job it is being abused and taken for granted. In order to become a more responsible being respect for ourselves to sustain a healthy balance from within is a must. The relationship between the parasympathetic and sympathetic branches of the nervous system is likening to that of the sun and moon with us being in the center. This relationship is represented in the symbol used by the medical industry which depicts two snakes (POS. and NEG.) coiling around a staff or scepter denoting harmony within the universal god body.

The sun radiates positive energy in the form of heat and light. It stimulates, nourishes and sustains life for all Earth’s creatures. In contrast, the moon acts as a magnet pulling at the liquids of Earth. The body being 70% liquid is greatly affected by its cycling affect. Take this antagonistic relationship between the sun and moon then apply it to the two branches of the ANS. The parasympathetic branch acts to replenish stores of energy. It constricts the bronchi, stimulates the gall bladder and digestive system. While the sympathetic branch is the most active during emotional responses like fear or anxiety that spend the body’s reserve energy by relaxing the bronchi and inhibiting digestive activity. The working together of these branches is representative of the harmony that resides within the universe.

The controlling of our anger and/or aggression comes from signals within the brain responding to circumstances being perceived outside of the body. Fear causing panic and indigestion serve as examples of the networking process between the brain, spine, and various organs. When we become more involved with this relationship we bring out the best in our being. That best will come from meditation, a proper diet, and better self awareness.

Conscious balance may be achieved through practice and self exploration. This is what the western world has come to know as transcendental meditation. TM is considered a simplified form of eastern meditation. It is for the individual who is not quite ready to give up the world around her or him just to feel better. These people want to be able to handle stress and anxiety without putting themselves in early graves. I commend them for making efforts to change their state of mind. Any individual that is aware of their personal need for change has got my respect. The god that humanity really is comes out every time a step is taken in the direction toward Self. Before light and the realization of darkness there was thought, and surrounding that thought was silence. Meditation takes you back to through time by opening up and exploring the inner silence in you. TM is a must for all that desire a sense of peace in their life. In the world of mysticism to gain control of a spirit or demon you must know its real name. Invoking the name makes you the master of that energy. It then becomes your responsibility to do what you want with the energy. The same thing goes for anger and fear within the mind. Once you give them names you become capable of suppressing their influence on your life. Just like a magician uses spells and charms to call upon the forces of the Earth you will be able to do the same from within; it will be as simple as opening up a tool box picking the emotion you need, using it and putting it back. The life force that is in you will guide your intuition relaying to you what is right. “I feel that any time we meditate the windows of dimensional possibility become visible. Through these windows time travel is made possible, telekinetic skills are sharpened, the paranormal experience becomes real and pan-dimensional analysis existence is made possible.” As humans we should promote all aspects of intellectual growth and assess the anomalies associated with all forms of psychoactive behavior. I think TM in the lives of more people could give us just that.
