Say NO to Puppy Mills

Please read my article "No Puppy Mill Pups" for Christmas

When I was looking at pet rescue web sites, I saw over 20,000 labrador retrievers in rescue.

This broke my heart.  People get the pups and then they get large and gangly, and the next thing people do is take the dog to the pound or vet.  Please do your homework before adopting a dog.  A foreclosure or other monetary event out of your control is not the subject here--giving the kids a puppy for Christmas that no one wants after that pup becomes a dog is the issue.  The other part of this issue is the "Please buy that doggy in the window" of pet stores that carry puppy mill pups.  Do your homework on where a dog has been bred.

Dogs are not Barbie dolls or GI Joes.  They are living, loving beings that deserve a life of love and a full-time commitment from their owners.  They have no control over their own fate.  Only the humans have that in their hands when they make the decision to choose an animal to join their family..

Hello Eileen,

This article is very true and should be read by everyone, including the kids who'll take the pup gift for Christmas. Dogs, cats, and other pets "know" their family (us) and they get emotionally attached to their "human" through the years. It is cruelty to bring them up until they are grown in size and in affection, and let them be -to die or to be given away again. We humans have the intelligence to

practice responsible pet ownership and that must be done.

We are accountable to God for every blood of any animal put in our care, the Bible says so. "A righteous man takes care of the needs of his animals."
