This is both our guilt and our hope.

In our world today, there is too much acceptance of sinful things.  There is far too much tolerance.  Tolerance is the newest hip little catch-phrase.  We already have far too much of it.  I don't think God is amused.

                                                   *  *  *

God's wrath is kindled against all who perform ungodly acts and those who hold back the truth that those acts are indeed ungodly.  God is angry because all that can be known about him, he has already shown them.  His handiwork, reaching all the way back to creation, is clearly seen, and the things that are invisible are understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead.  They're without excuse.

When they knew God, they didn't credit him or thank him but became full of their own conceit and pride and drew into their hearts darkness.  Thinking themselves to be wise, they became fools.  They exchanged the Creator for the created things, like man and animals and birds and the things that creep on the Earth.

They have caused God to give them up to uncleanness, and they dishonor their bodies as they lust for even their own kind.  These are those who now call God a liar and worship the created things rather than he who created them.  Therefore, they have put away the one who is blessed forever and would impart that blessing to them.

So God has put them off also, so that even the women among them have changed their natural affections for that which is unnatural, and think it not strange to lay with other women.  They follow the way of their men who burn with lust for other men until they receive within their flesh the reward of their error, which is due them and just.

Since they chose to deny knowledge of God and rejected him, so did God leave them to their reprobate minds.  They therefore fill themselves, without the curse of guilt, with unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, and maliciousness.  They have become full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, malignity.  They are whisperers, backbiters, haters of God, insolent, boasters, inventors of evil things as well as disobedient to parents.  They are without understanding; they are oath breakers, heartless, unmerciful and impossible to placate.

Even though they know that, according to God, those who do such things are worthy of death, not only do they continue to do them, but they delight in others that do them.

                                                                    * * *

(I think that the underlined areas, read together, state our greatest sin today, and has caused us to fall into all the others.)

Do you think that by these words I am condemning homosexuals?  If you do, you would be wrong.  If you have read it carefully, you will see that I am condemning all of mankind.  Well, not me really, but the Apostle Paul.  He wrote it first.  I just worded it a little differently (to fool you - maybe).  You can read it in Paul's own words in Romans 1:18-32

But don't forget to also read verses 16, 17 -

For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.  For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith. -Romans 1:16,17

Hello Paul,

All you wrote here is the truth from the Book of Romans, and today they call this the "Icky Stuff". Stuff that angers, confronts, and
convicts all who read it. Translating it to modern language makes the truth more plain, and in that you are a gem.

The truth always hurts...but "it will set us free."
