God's perfect act of love illustrated through the Last Supper in Holy Communion.
And He took bread, gave thanks and broke it and gave it to them saying “This is My body which is given for you; do this in remembrance of me.” Likewise, He also took the cup after supper, saying, This is the new covenant in My blood, which is shed for you.”
The Last Supper, initiated by the Father, instituted by Jesus and administered through the Holy Spirit is the perfection of God’s love. When one receives in total commitment the Bread and Wine of communion, symbolic of the Body and Blood of Christ it is the fulfillment of His love. And although we are grief-stricken in the remembrance of our sins, we at that very instant, share joyously in the glorification, righteousness and grace of Christ, reminded and refreshed that we have been saved by and through His blood. Jesus has risen, and in what greater memorial does His love shine than in Communion, as each unite as one with Christ and all unite with Christ as one.
