That Barrack Obama has broke one sacred record that no other Blackman dead or alive has ever done surely is one of the most hard to believe reality going on in America the land of civil democracy and the entire world in general. And indeed the record has been broken and he his currently on his way to shattering the mother of all records in world history – becoming the next occupant of the White House. But how really possible is this Herculean task? No doubt that the metrics of our day to day activities on earth has proved number of times that everything in life is possible as long as one set his or her eyes, mind and faith in it. And just as the great thinker Napoleon rightly opined “whatsoever the mind can conceive and believe, it can achieve” and this Senator Obama would have to prove in the next couple of months in the hottest democratic race in the world. Will he come out victorious and become the first Blackman to rule the land of the Yankees? Or would those strong hidden forces in Washington pulled the rug under his feet, using all known and unknown political theories to hedge him out of the race?.
Already the battle within his political party the Democrats for the party nominated candidate is already taking some dimension, using all forms of media blackmails and propaganda to woe in different electorates with diverse political ideology.
Part of the reality is that given a free level ground this Blackman with a white blood would naturally triumph over any other candidates presented by both the Democrats and the ruling Republicans, this given his charismatic popularity and the fact that the American people are yearling for a change, an antidote to the current turmoil their nation has suddenly found itself as the acclaimed land of democracy, equal right, freedom and justice. Surely events around the world in the last eight years have proved not once or twice, but countless time, that the current policy makers in American lead by Mr. Bush (Jnr) are playing the opposite of these acclaimed titles. Thanks to the unwholesome atrocities so far committed by the Bush administration in Iraq, Guatemala Bay and other anti democracy tendencies his administration has so far exhibited against the world.
The American people have every right to ask for a positive change from these negative images and this Mr Obama has promised them. But how possible is this dream?
As an African myself a Nigerian precisely it would gladden my soul the day a Blackman climbed that number one position as the strongest president in the world, I tell you I would if alive and healthy join the other millions of blacks who would roll out their drums and jar ret wildly with happiness across the jungle of Africa and other part of the world, where our race have for so long toil. I would continue look up to the sky daily and thank God for setting us free from forces of discrimination, nepotism, segregation and inhumanity.
But I have this strong conviction deep inside me that the forces in Washington and their backers would never open their eyes and allow that inspiring dream to become reality. Those who believe the Blackman can not be better would never subscribe to that wind of change that a black president could bring; neither would they want to appreciate the black race contribution to the economic, political and social development of the mighty America. They will continue to closed their eyes and ears to the fact that the black race have contributed immensely to the development of sports, music, movie, science, politics, business and other positive factors that made the world what is it today.
The big question begging for answer therefore is will a black man ever be allow to rule the strongest nation in the world? This given his resilient contribution to the continue togetherness and development of a nation he was stolen to as a slave some hundred years ago. Well only time would tell as we continue to watch the unfolding political drama going on in the world number one proponent of democracy.
Could this be the coming of the first black president in America and world history? well the Blackman might be on his way to the White House who knows.
