Prayer. It is very important to learn to pray. But...What is Prayer?
Prayer isn't having to go to a church or temple and ask God something, but you can. It's the communion with God anywhere, any place and at any time.
Prayer is not only talking to God in times of need; it is constant communication. Find the time to pray and have communication with God. Just talk to him whether it's outloud or in your mind. Most people think they can't hear God, but they can. You just might not recognize that you hear him. You must listen to the signs, signals or to your inner voice. God's words are spoken to you through many different ways. You may hear your own voice speaking back to you, you may see a picture in your mind, you may see a sign for your prayer. These are all different forms of communication with God. This is all prayer.
You can be standing in line at Wal-mart, Costco, the bank or your corner grocery store and talk to God. Talk throughout the day. Many people seem to think they only should do this when they go to church or before they go to bed, but what God really wants from us is to talk to Him more often. When we have more communication with God, we become more in tune with the spiritual realm that's inside of us. When we talk more to God, we will open up the world and ourselves to more peace, balance, harmony and happiness. We need to become stronger with our spirtual realm, then we will feel what freedom and peace are really all about.
Don't be afraid and don't ever think that God doesn't have time for you or that you might be taking up his time. No question or comment to him will shock him or will be a waste. He can be with you at a moments notice, whenever or wherever you are.
If you are ready for happiness and peace in your life... all you have to do is try talking to God.

| You are so right. Many times I like to start my praying with thanksgiving as well as thanking God for life itself. Patty this is a good article. |

Just remember not to do your praying as you walk down the sidewalk. People will stare and call you the crazy lady. lol
Excellent article, Patty. The purpose of prayer is to be in fellowship with God. I enjoy my prayer life, and I know He hears me.
