This is Part 4/Week 4 of the Weight Loss New Years Resolution articles.

By now you've probably either committed to starting a weight loss program or you haven't. For those of you who have started, I commend you and I encourage you to continue to stay focussed and not quit. If you started right at New Years, you could be down by as much as 4-5 lbs already. Can you see how it starts to add up? Remember... this is just the start, so we don't want to lose weight too quickly, but as each week goes by, you have the opportunity to lose up to 2 lbs per week if you stay focussed. And this will start to add up fast. The weeks go by fast, so the weight you lose each week will add up fast too. Stay encouraged, motivated and as I keep saying...."Keep your drive, passion and momentum going" Once you stop, it's hard to get started again. If you have a bad day, go ahead and fire yourself for the day. But the next day re-hire yourself to do the job of losing weight once again. Look at this as if it's your job. If you work, you are committed to going to work every day because if you don't, then you won't have money to pay your bills. So now commit yourself to losing weight. If you don't do it every day, you won't lose the weight.

It's all about creating a mind set. If we create a mind set, we can achieve anything we want to achieve. But you are the only one who can do this. No one else can make changes for you. Once again...it goes back to having a drive and passion. So do it and don't stop!!

If you haven't started your weight loss program, then start it right now and don't put it off until tomorrow, because tomorrow you'll have another excuse and say tomorrow all over again! There is an overwhelming amount of obesity today. It has increased 75% since the early 1970s.

Tips For The Week:
People these days are always feeling tired and fatigued. Stop drinking caffeine and using artificial sweeteners. They are poisons for your body and they will continue to destroy your body too. When you read that something is artificial, that's exactly what it is. "Artificial." That means it is fake. Do we want to continue to put fake foods into our bodies? God gave us fruits and vegetables. This is our medicine. If you eat off of the land more like the animals in the wild do, you will find that your weight will fall right off of your body; you'll have a whole lot more energy and disease will start to diminish in our societies. That feeling you have of being tired and fatigued will more than likely go away and you'll feel more refreshed and a whole lot better because of it.

People also tend to think that because they use an artificial sweetener that it's giving them less calories. Well that part is true , it does give you less calories, but what people don't know is that these artificial sweeteners also cause people to crave more sweet foods. Artificial sweeteners have also been linked to many diseases such as cancer, tumors and an increase in diabetes. So do your best to not use these sweeteners. They are fake food and the human body wasn't created to ingest anything fake.

Fried Foods:
Stop eating fried foods. Fried foods will make you FAT! Fried foods will clog your arteries and can cause heart disease and even worse things.

Sugary Sweets:
Limit yourself to something small, once per day. But watch all the sweet foods you eat like cookies, cake, ice cream, sodas, etc. They will not only make you fat, but they can significantly increase your chance for disease. Did you know that cancer can only survive in the human body if there is sugar present? It's a scary thing to think about, but it's your choice. Is it worth it to get a disease? Most people would say it isn't. So if you don't want disease to strike you, then limit yourself with all those sweets.

Salty Foods:
Be cautious with the amount of sodium you consume each day. Too much sodium can make you retain water (water retention) and this can definitely make the scale go up. Too much sodium each day can also increase your risk for high blood pressure. So watch your salt intake as well.

Patty i see that we share many of the same values and are committed to helping people with weight. My personal food plan is low salt, low sugar and low fat. I pray that i can help as you are. I lost two brother due to weight issues
