WWW.WORLDTROTTERS.ORG is a student-centered website dedicated to fostering multicultural learning in the K-8 classroom. In October 2001 WORLD TROTTERS will begin an international journey inviting classrooms from around the world to come along for the ride. Via a virtual tour of the globe, students can explore their own heritage, learn about world cultures, celebrate diversity and acquire computer skills.





Through innovative educational links on the Website including: See the World through a Child’s Eyes, World Arts, Travel Journal and Learning Center a plethora of multicultural information will be relayed in real-time. This will provide users with the opportunity to not only learn about world cultures in a comprehensive manner but also have the ability to interact with the team on the road to impact future web content.

Students can vote via email on topics to be covered on each country visited. Users can also request specific multicultural information from the World Trotters team on the road to be emailed to them via a questionnaire on the site.

A multicultural learning tool for teachers and students, the World Trotters website is not designed to replace traditional curriculum but rather enhance it. A research study will be performed to evaluate the impact of the website’s usefulness in the classroom. Teachers of participating classes will communicate with the traveling team via email each month to voice comments, suggestions, and questions about the website’s use in their classroom.
