Second trip to Texas Motor Speedway in Fort Worth; will be attending the O'Reilly 300 Challenge race for the NASCAR Busch Series. It's gonna' be a great time!!
VROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!!!!!!!
Tomorrow we (meaning Karla, my twin, our friends Paul and Merla, and myself) are going to the Texas Motor Speedway in Fort Worth (actually, it's in Justin, Texas, the place where the Justin Boots are made) for the O'Reilly Challenge 300 race.
It will be our second time there; we were last there on April 12, 2007 (for the qualifying). Weather expected to be sunny to partly cloudy, highs in the lower to mid seventies, just perfect. I am looking forward to it; this will be the first time I've been out of Burleson since last April. (Don't have a car, so we don't go anywhere--much.)
Because of my physical disabilities, I will be using a wheelchair. Texas Motor Speedway is HUGE; it's an awful lot of walking. Too hard on me. Karla is going to be pushing me around the place, she will be feeling that big time on Sunday.
We will also be quite deaf: those NASCAR cars are LOUD! If you think one car is loud, you ought to wait until ALL are on the track! WHEEE!! At least we'll have a good view, since I'm going to be in a wheelchair; don't have to worry about anyone blocking my way!
You can bet we will be screaming, hollering for Matt Kenseth! That's our driver; he's the best! (Although lately he's not been doing too good; blown engines, tire troubles, wrecking out--Matt, what are you DOING?? You're supposed to FINISH the race!!!!)
I will give you a report on Sunday; stay tuned!

My husband and I like to watch Nascar too. We have been to Talledega a few times long years ago. Haven't been in a long time.
I like Dale Jr. I don't know he just seems like he has been thru alot. I liked his Dad and loved to see him race. He was killed the same year I had a horrible wreck.
Anyway--this year is interesting with Dale Jr. Plus I think he is cute. hahaha
I also like Matt Kenseth and I like Carl Evans. the only one I really don't like very much is Jeff Gordon--just something about him.
But, it is all just a race and I like to watch it.
I bet you had a good time!!

| Karen, this sounds like a wonderful outing. Wish I were going with you. In my younger days, I had a friend who's husband drove in the stock-car races, and we were there every Friday night. It was really thrilling cheering him on and hoping he would win. Have lots of fun for you and me both. |

Then again...watch out for #24 Jeff Gordon, he's running just a point behind, and #20 Juan Pablo Montoya (the cry baby of Formula 1) with his "I don't give a damn for other safety" go bowling with his car.

I am sooo green with envy but I will be glued to my couch as my man Jimmie Johnson wins another in good old NUMBER 48. Anyway have a ball and I will be watching the crowd scenes for ya both.

Oh, look, it's # 17, MATT KENSETH!!!!!! Whoo-hoooooooooooo! And heeeeey, Paul...be nice! LOL Jr. ain't had much luck lately, either. :( I like Jr, but Matt does it for me. And you.
