The end of summer means shorter days in the sun. I always find that I love the longer sunny days to plan my day. When the days start to shorten I like to stay in the house more and that can get depressing.
When summer does end it’s the start of all the holiday preparations. First comes Halloween, then Thanksgiving and finally Christmas. After Christmas is the New Year and I hope it will be better for you and I then the last one.
Holidays are for family and when you don’t have a family or they are spread around the globe it’s really hard to maintain a smile and a good disposition. Memories come back in vivid color of past Christmas’s when the family was together. If you have friend band together if you don’t have friends join some kind of an organization in which you are interested. Or volunteer somewhere, anywhere and you’ll find out how rewarding it is to help another person.
It is a time for becoming depressed just thinking about the coming holiday hype. Money. Where do I get the money for all the holiday preparations?
This is where creativity comes in handy. Instead of buying expensive gifts make something. If you sew, knit, paint, write etc. the ideas are endless. Give someone a homemade card saying : I will wash your car on the 26 of December. Sometimes something like means more than anything you can buy in a store.
Somehow I always manage to get through the holiday with a sigh and say. It’s over for this year next year will be better.
