Sponsor Highlight: Terrence Warren By: Dr. Katherine Y. Brown “Anyone can start a business as long as they're willing and determined to do what it takes to get in the door!” These are the words of Terrence Warren, author of “From The Gutter To Glory: A Broke Man's Guide To Starting A Business”. As the official premiere sponsor of the inaugural issue of Intrigue Magazine, I am pleased to introduce you to a man of veracity, resilience, and above all proven success. Terrence's literary debut, was officially released on Tuesday, January 8, 2008. New to book stands, his book, a semi-autobiographical work that gives strategies for success in business, is taking readers by storm. What qualifies Terrence to offer suggestions to others regarding business you ask? Terrence is a man who has overcome great trials to obtain his professional goals. Sitting on the ladder of success required commitment and dedication, both traits he clearly possessed. Born and raised in Goldsboro, North Carolina, he was accustomed to the small time life. After graduation his desire to travel the world while serving his country became a reality with his enlistment in the Unites States Army. While serving in the United States Army he spent four years in Hawaii before returning to civilian life where he experienced a five month search for employment and being laid off twice within three months. Knowing that the serving in the Army was something he had been successful at, he returned for an additional four years. It was during his eighth year of service that he was deployed to Iraq in support of Operation Enduring Freedom; the military response to the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks on the United States. While serving in the Army, Terrence spent a lot of time reflecting on his life’s ambition to gain financial independence. Once he returned from the military, he began pursuing financial grants to start a business; a process that yielded great challenges for him. Terrence’s employment pursuits included working as a cable installer, having a skincare website business, international commerce and private label manufacturing with his own skin care products line, and a contracting venture overseas by starting a drink vending company. After a few more road blocks in the pavement, Terrence found his niche with buying ATM Machines and staring Warren ATM Networks. By this time he had three successful businesses under his belt and had become a respected authority by his peers for advice related to business, marketing, and start-up procedures. As word traveled about Terrence, he was asked to give presentations and lead seminars/workshops. Although Terrence did not feel he was qualified to speak publicly about business, he was offered a great opportunity to write a book. This opportunity allowed him to write about how he attained his wealth and started his businesses. Since the release of his book last month, Terrence has been doing motivational speaking with one underlying message he hopes will encourage others. As he describes, "I was that average guy living paycheck to paycheck and was tired of someone else managing my time. Working hard for a little amount of money got so annoying that I decided to change my situation. I had no degree, bad credit, and hardly any money, but with sheer determination and perseverance, I attained my goals despite what anyone said. I never let my color, upbringing, where I came from, or social status be a reason for failure." Terrence Warren is a true example that with hard work and determination, dreams can come true .
