I was a child of two parents with Borderline Personality Disorder. In my late teens I was also diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder. On my BPD Blog Borderline Personality Disorder Inside Out I write about BPD for both those diagnosed with it and the family members, loved ones, relationship or ex-relationship partners - non borderlines - who have someone with BPD in their lives.
I have recently added a new topic area on this blog called The Diary - My Borderline Years in which I feature journal entries from my past that chronicle my borderline experience. The experience of my own developing BPD, my life with BPD, and the experience of the toxic, enmeshed, dysfunctional family that I was raised in.
I am currently writing a memoir about this part of my life. A memoir about my experience as the child of two borderline parents and as someone who was diagnosed with BPD at the age of 19 and who recovered at the age of 38. My memoir will chronicle my experience and process from the roots of an abusive and very psychologically damaging childhood - one that included sexual, verbal, emotional, and physical abuse - through years of living a very painful and abusive "borderilne" life to the experiences I had in therapy that made my recovery from BPD possible.
Whether you are someone with Borderline Personality Disorder or someone who loves, or has loved and cared about someone with Borderline Personality Disorder it is my hope that you can find some understanding and insight in what I share that will help you in your process and your life.
