MY TWO CENTS WORTH
By Myrtle Poor ©
Greetings in the name of the Lord! God is a mighty and a merciful God and is able to keep all that is given unto Him for safe keeping. That includes all the service men and women that are in Iraq. I just found out today that I have a nephew and a niece both in Iraq already and another nephew is going in a couple of weeks. Please help me pray for them that God will keep them safe and not just them, but for all the service men and women over there.
My scripture today is taken from 1 Corinthians 2:9,10. But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love Him. But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.
Have you ever just thought about exactly what heaven is like. I know when I think about it I think of beautiful flowers and streets of gold, big beautiful crowns that we have so many of we can change and have a different one for every change of clothes. The Bible says that we can't even begin to fathom in our mind what He has prepared for us. He is not only talking about heaven but all the things He has for His children.
When we get to the point that we can't pray or don't know what to pray for, the Holy Spirit will take over and pray for us. Oh my, what a wonderful thought. There you sit so burdened down with the cares of the world and you know you need to pray, but just can't seem to have the words to pray. All of a sudden peace begins to move in your soul and you begin to feel the Holy Spirit near.
That is when we need to sit back and bask in the blessings of the Lord and let that blessing just totally fill our souls until there is no more room to fill. Just let it run over all around us and anyone else that is near us. There is a song that I love dearly. It says "I'M DRINKING FROM MY SAUCER CAUSE MY CUP HAS OVER FLOWED." I don't know about anyone else but I'll take all those saucerS full I can get.
Something to think about: Happy is the housewife who sees the rainbows, not the dishes, in the soapsuds. Until next time remember to know lasting happiness, we must get to know Jesus.

A TRIBUTE TO MOTHERS
By Myrtle Poor
Some mothers are large.
Some mothers are tall.
Some mothers are old.
Some mothers are small.
Some mothers work
And some mothers don't.
Some mothers cook
And some mothers won't.
Some mothers are near
And some you can't find.
There is your mother
And then there is mine.
There was a mother
Named Mary one day
That gave birth
To a baby named Jesus, they say.
Mary brought the child up
in the way he should go,
Then Jesus died on the cross
To save the world as you know.
A mother holds a child's
Life in her hands
As she struggles and frets
To do the best that she can.
Her struggles would be easier
If she'd let Christ run the show
And bring up her children
In the way they should go.
