MY TWO CENTS WORTH
By Myrtle Poor (c)
Greetings from the Sooner State. It has been raining here almost every day. Lots and lots of rain. I checked my feet this morning to see if I was web footed. (Chuckle, chuckle.)
You know the Lord has been blessing me so much the last few days and my heart cries out to the Lord. Even though there is heart ache and despair on every hand I still love and trust him. He is awesome and almighty. He is Lord of lords, King of kings, almighty God and soon coming Savior.
Psalms 33:21 says: Our heart shall rejoice in Him."
We as Christians should be able to rejoice even in time of our deepest despair.
Blessed is the fact that Christians can rejoice even in the deepest distress; although trouble may be all around us, we should still have a song in our heart. We can take a lesson from the many little birds, as they sing best in their cages.
In the heaviest storms we have and when the waves may roll over us, we can roll over on our back and float, and our souls will soon rise to the surface and see the light of God's countenance. We have the Holy Spirit with us which keeps our head always above the water, and helps us to sing in the middle of the storm. God is still with us when we surface and the storm becomes still.
We never walk through a valley that God doesn't walk through it with us. I know sometimes that we don't feel him or see him, but just like with the Three Hebrew Children he is beside us with his flame retardant mantle wrapped around us so we won't get singed.
Trouble does not necessarily bring consolation with it to us the believers, but the presence of God in the fiery furnace with us fills our heart with joy and song. When the raging water overcomes us Jesus puts His arms around us and picks us up above the raging waters, and speaks to us gently, "fear not for I am with you and I will be with you to the end. I am thy God and it is my good pleasure to give you the kingdom." Now as we draw strength in our valley we are able to go another mile for the Lord.
The glory of our brightest days is the comfort of our nights."
The Bible says in Psalms 28:1 "Unto thee will I cry, O Lord my rock; be not silent to me: lest, if thou be silent to me, I become like them that go down into the pit."
It is in the valley we grow the most.
Love and God bless you.

THE FIREY FURNACE
By Myrtle Poor (c)
Somethimes we wonder,
But do not understand
Why troubles and strifes
Beset all rightous men.
There is a purpose
In the things that come about
If we would but seek it
We could face it without doubt.
We may not see the purpose,
But we know its God's big plan.
When the storms are the roughest
We can hold onto his hand.
We walk through the firey furnace
And be tempered by the fire.
God does not want a Christian
That is wading in the mire
