This My Two Cents worth is about why God's people seem to suffer more than the ornery and mean ones do.

MY TWO CENTS WORTH

By Myrtle Poor

Greetings from the Sooner State. It is a beautiful day here, Let us be glad and rejoice in it. Have you ever stopped a thought about why some of God's people suffer all kinds of  afflictions and troubles while some people who is ornery  and mean as an old skunk and wants nothing to do with God seems to always prosper.Yeah it kind of gets right in the middle of the heart doesn't it?

Most Christians have an average view of the Christian life is that it means deliverance from trouble. It is deliverance in trouble, which is very different.

Psalms 91:1 (Our 911 as a Christian) says "He that dwelleth in the secret place of the Most High...there shall no evil befall thee" - no plague can come nigh the place where you are at one with God.

If you are a child of God, there certainly will be troubles to meet, but Jesus says do not be surprised when they come. "In the world you shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world, there is nothing for you to fear." Men who before they were saved would scorn to talk about troubles, often become "ashamed" after being born again because they have a wrong idea of a saint.

God does not give us an overcoming life: He gives us life as we overcome. The trial is the strength. If there is no trial, there is no strength. Are you asking God to give you life and liberty and joy? He cannot, unless you will accept the trial. Immediately you face the trial, you will get the strength and he will give you enough strength to face whatever the problem is. If you  need a little strength he will give you a little. I you need a lot of strength because the trail is harder to overcome then he will give you more strength.

Overcome your own timidity and take the step, and God will give you to eat of the tree of life and you will get nourishment. If you spend yourself out physically, you become exhausted; but spend yourself spiritually, and you get more strength. God never gives strength for tomorrow, or for the next hour, but only for the trial of the minute. The temptation is to face difficulties from a common-sense standpoint. The saint is hilarious when he is crushed with difficulties because the thing is so ludicrously impossible to anyone but God. and troubles while some people who is ornery an mean as an old skunk and wants nothing to do with God seems to always prosper.Yeah it kind of gets right in the middle of the heart doesn't it?

THIS TOO SHALL PASS
By Myrtle Poor

This I valley that I am passing through
Is dark and cold and lonely too.
The birds sing sadly from the cherry trees.
The shadows are dark as they cover me.

I look around and see no way out.
All exits are closed, there is no doubt.
I ask the Lord to help me you see,
But He said His is grace is sufficient for me.

As I walk through these hours of hell
I also know there is heaven as well.
I put on my faith and hang on fast
For soon I know this too shall pass.

As the hours turn into very long weeks
The Spirit touches my soul at its very peak.
Now this race run, I see the light at last,
For my walk in this valley, now too has past.
