We live in an awesome universe, full of wonder and joy. But it's not magic! It's much better...
Arthur C. Clarke once remarked that magic is the perception a person has when he encounters an advanced technology. I think he’s correct.
Is there anyway George Washington would have understood the science and technology behind Marine One should the presidential helicopter suddenly appeared to fly him from Mount Vernon to New York to be sworn in as President? Not likely. Of course the sudden appearance of the machine would probably have been frightening.
But if it were possible to meet with Ben Franklin and a few others at the tavern and describe to him the mechanics of a helicopter, Franklin would probably see that such a device could be possible, although the technology of the time would have made it impossible to build.
MAGIC is the creation of something that appears to defy natural law. Magic must then be a supernatural thing, capable of making the laws of nature do what they usually do not do. The key word is appears.
In a certain sense we experience “magical” things everyday. How often do you experience a coincidence? You know, what are the odds of that happening? A common example is looking at your telephone an instant before it rings and knowing who is calling. “What a coincidence!” Wrong.
There are no such things as coincidences. What is in play, and perhaps not understood or recognized, is the universal Law of Attraction in action.
It simply does not seem that “accidents” in nature exist. Nothing happens accidentally. There is always, at some level, a linking vibrational attraction that influences the physical elements.
For instance, last week I drove up to my favorite camping spot on the Cossatot river. At one point during the drive I thought about my intention to call my wife on my cell phone once I was there to see if there was satellite reception in the mountains. At that moment the cell phone chimed and I thought, “that’s her.” And it was.
Two things happened. One is the wonderful technology of cell phones. They would be considered magic a century ago. My wife's phone radiated a coded signal to a transmitter that sent it to a satellite, to another transmitter, that my phone, being on, recognized for me. I answered, and radiation energy permitted us to speak, a hundred miles apart.
The second thing that happened did not involve technology, but did involve similar coded radiated energy. At the instant she had the thought “I’ll call George” her thought was broadcast into space at 186,000 miles per second. That thought wave caught up with me and a part of my vibrational field recognized the thought from my wife. That recognition is what lead to my thought of calling her.
We are creations of vibration. Our awareness and experience is that of vibrations. We know how saturated is our world with cosmic vibrations. Radiations from every energy source in the universe passes through our planet, and us. Because of differences in frequency of vibrations, most do not affect us. The vibrations that we are aligned with will be noted.
We are aligned with a certain vibrational range of light - this is what we see. Our eyes and brain receptors are designed to activate only when certain vibrations of light occur. If the vibrations are too low, infa-red, we can not visually see it. Same for ultraviolet and those in the higher ranges. Same for hearing. We know that vibrations of SOUND exist both lower and higher that our hearing is capable of sensing. The dog reacts to high frequencies that do not bother us; animals sensed the very low frequency of the sound of the earthquake recently, and moved to high ground. Humans didn’t hear that, and played on the beach.
You touch something that is hot and immediately know that there is a high level of vibration emitting heat. Same for touching something cold - indicating a low level of vibration and the absence of heat.
If we really want to use the word MAGIC, then it’s the grand creation. It seem magical for energy vibrations - and nothing more - to coalesce to create what we know as matter. We don’t know HOW that’s done. Yet. Religions have been studying that arena for thousands of years. Science for a couple of centuries. But it’s the same search - how does pure energy become matter, and what force designs the patterns the matter takes?
BIG MAGIC = YOU. Consider your physical body - a marvelous interplay of all matter and energy: You are made of gases, liquids - mainly water, minerals, solids, electricity. What are the odds of these visible and invisible vibrations of energy coming together to create, You?
Life is not a coincidence or chance happening. Life is energy in action. It’s the magnificence of E=MC2. The amount of energy is equal to the mass of matter multiplied by the speed of light squared. The speed of light is 186,000 miles per second. Squared is 34,701,000,000 miles per second. That’s a very big number to multiply anything by. The mass of an atom, or an electron, or a photon, or you, multiplied by that figure shows what an incredible amount of energy creates the atom, electron, or you.
Remember, the atomic bomb just converted the energy of a single atom into energy.
Now we know that energy vibrates, and thanks to Mr. Einstein, we know how much energy is contained within us. Sort of makes us very powerful beings, doesn’t it? And that is the challenge of our life in this three dimensional realm - how can we use our phenomenal power to create Joy?
Think of the “magical” things accomplished by Jesus - instantly healing the sick; instantly producing from a small supply, enough food for hundreds, perhaps thousands; raising Lazarus from the dead; walking on water; turning water into wine…and so on. Magical only in the sense that the observers could not understand what he was doing - which was working with the tremendous energies available in the vibrational fourth dimension.
Because Jesus said that we can do not only all that he did, but more, we know that the power he appeared to wield was not magic of himself, but LAW for all. That is, he was not a magician invoking supernatural forces, he was a spiritual man using the forces of creation.
We are using the forces of creation 24 hours a day, whether we do so consciously or not. We are creating our experience, based on aligned vibrations coming together to produce effects, every instant. The challenge is to KNOW that we are doing so, and to LIVE in the highest vibrational level possible - for that is what we call JOY.
We are living, right NOW, simultaneously, several components of our more complete self:
1. PHYSICAL. The incredibly compressed energy that forms the 3-D body. In order to experience 3-D life, one must have a body.
2. MENTAL. The conscious awareness of the physical plus, to varying degrees, higher vibrations. This is the 24/7 creation center - issuing vibrations that begin to attract LIKE vibrations, resulting in experiences.
3. ASTRAL form. Tremendous energy radiated from you that is not limited by matter/form. Sometimes visible. Possible explanation for “phantom” limbs - sensing a body part that is missing. This is the self that may be involved in some dream experiences or OBE.
4. AURA. Radiated energy beyond the Astral form. More fluid, linked to total self and its vibrational “colors” can show areas of constriction or flourish. Can be “seen” by those whose senses extend beyond the “hard wired” limits of vibrational input.
There are most certainly other components to our total self, but we’ve got a full plate with just these five!
Life is not magic, nor or we at the whim of some capricious force. View life as majestic and behold it with joyful awe. It is exhilarating. That’s not a bad feeling, either.
