First published by Well For The Journey in the upcoming summer issue of Quench.

Former chief personnel officer for NASA, former assistant ambassador to Mexico, they quit their jobs to follow their bliss. They were surrogate parents, employers, and my first examples a spiritual well being was most important. They gave me confidence that I had done the right thing in leaving a stressful, good paying job to work for them part-time, which allowed me to go to art school, where in the next few months I experienced a way of self-expression that gave me a sense of peace, a feeling of joy, that was not boastful, but borne by an inner Light.
