A painted picture of tranquil nature through the eyes of an onlooker...
TRANQUILITY
Hollow eyes locked on the image reflected through the window she is lost in a trance. The stillness of the scenery is captivating but at the same time strange. Life has stopped its breath for not the slightest movement was noticeable to the naked eye. Voice vibrations floating in the air have seized their flight. The laughing smoke from the hanging cigarette has evaporated leaving flakes of ash on the cold asphalt. The dancing trees have concluded their choreographic routine and have paused for an intermission. The bright burning ball of orange hanging from the sky has dimmed with the thick cloud curtain moving in. Tranquility reigned over the neighborhood.

| Made my colorful tranquility by a new poem to Tom about a yellow butterfly. His cigarette smoke left with him too. Like the words to this and the toughts behind. Glad you posted it. ********** |

With subtle strokes of poetic color you captured your subject and brought it to tease all of the reader's senses. Sights, sounds and smells come alive in this captivating write. Well done.
