                        Writer’s Conference

Empower Yourself! Empower Your Writing! The 2011 Writer’s Conference Theme is Empowerment. Wanting to write well is the first step in empowering oneself for publishing. To succeed, one must understand the keys to good writing and good practice, and acquire the right tools. The second step is empowering oneself with psychological fortitude and insight. This includes setting goals, taking care of oneself, and personal and professional growth. The event targets those who want to be published and empower their lives!
The conference will be held Friday and Saturday May 20-21 at the Village at Indian Springs in Flovilla, Georgia. Featured presenters include writers Anne B. Jones, William Rawlings, Jaclyn Weldon White, Jaclynn Morris, editor Judy Bozarth and Georgia Poetry Society Poets Ron Self and J.C. Reilly.  The schedule includes a Friday afternoon tour of the Indian Spring Hotel Museum; a session on “Empowerment is Having the Tools” by thriller author Anne B. Jones; a workshop by Georgia Poetry Society Poet Ron Self; a Mix and Mingle Reception at the Hayes House; and a Friday night Open Mic event hosted by the Georgia Poetry Society.
Saturday includes a Continental Breakfast and morning sessions presented by writers Anne B. Jones and Jaclynn Morris, and editor Judy Bozarth. A catered lunch will feature readings by Poet JC Reilly and will lead to afternoon presentations by William Rawlings and Jaclyn Weldon White, and a Georgia Poetry Society Workshop by JC Reilly. The evening’s campfire meal offers a chance for debriefing and networking. Fee $150 For more information contact 770-227-4002
