My name is Maria Eloisa Ragozza de Mandrini ( Marita ). I was born in Buenos Aires (Argentina), but I live at present  in Pehuajo.

I am a teacher ( Normal Nacional ), I've got a degree ( Terciary level - Profesorado) in Psychology, Philosophy and Pedagogy also a Catholic Education teacher degree.

Since the year 2000 I have been participating in competitions , sometimes with the pseudonym Violeta Crucis.

Generally I write poetry and  sometimes  narrations.

My poetry is published into many Anthologies in Argentina.

I have published my works in Literary Magazines such as

" Nueva Avenida " from La Plata and " Redes de Papel " from Buenos Aires.

I have also been awarded in Literary Competitions where I keep sending my works ( Azul, Santa Clara del Mar, Buenos Aires, La Plata, Moron, Junin). The most important of these prizes were :    Prize in Poetry in  the Pehuajo Book Fair ( year 2000) and National Prize in the Competition for Poet Women ( year 2003 ).

On the next 14th August 2004, the Editorial Nuevo Ser will be presenting an Anthology of Stories of International Authors in the Paseo La Plaza ( Buenos Aires-Capital Federal ). POETRY

Bilingual Poetry by Maria Eloisa Ragozza de Mandrini

 SEPIA         SEPIA

Aristocratic sepia,

colour of longings

and recollections,

painted on photographs and films,

on kept ribbons,

on desicated flowers.

I used to believe it was taken

from tea-colured macerated

rose petals.

When I learnt it is ink

extracted from digestive bag

of an ugly squid!

 in my hand disappoinment

makes the sepia colour crackle

in an autumn leaf.

EL SILENCIO  THE SILENCE

It is the primitive song of Creation,

"only God'steps were heard"

in valleys, hills, seas, earth and stars.

God was the only owner of the word.

Later, the silence incarnated in Bethlehem and said

good news, good sens, the way,

tenderness, truth and life .

The silence existed before the word.

Today it is the biggest absent in a world saturated of words,

massive negation of the silence,

voices and screams asault from screens, radios,

microphones, walls and posters.

The challenge is to draw the smoke curtain

of the hollow, uncertain, double voices . . .

to lift the linen cloth

to go into the womb of the true word:

the silence.

THERE IS LIFE BEFORE BIRTH

HAY VIDA ANTES DE NACER

We've existed for ever in the thought of God,

the embryo is infinetely  precious

since that's how Christ was moulded in Mary's womb,

the Spirit fluttering in the waters of amnios

as it did at the dawn of Creation,

He painted Jesus-Man since the  minute cell,

the love of God blew order on the cellular mass

and protected Him with his wings

during the sublime geometry of  his growth.

Father -Creator.

Jesus -Archetype.

Holy Spirit -Architect.

For the mystery or Incarnation

human beings carry the mark of Christ.

So that all the hands of the children- to- be -born

and held forever the ones of Christ- to- be-born.

TODAY YOU WILL BE WITH ME IN PARADISE

HOY ESTARAS CONMIGO EN EL PARAISO

---------------------------------

The Good Thief is in History

beside Jesus Christ in Calvary.

He is neighbour of the Crucified

just when  Redemption

was more a darker than an illuminating event.

He is the Worker of the Last Hour

in Jesus parable,

placed to the son's right,

he is physically next to Him

in time and space.

Dimas is guilty,

but he does not remain silent, he talks to Him, he does not despair,

he recognizes the Judge of the Living an the Dead,

the Crucified promises him

the prairies of Kingdom.
