Grorth's Acceptance

The survivors of the Rnite war have found a home, peace and acceptance on a new planet untouched by the destruction the rest of the universe has suffered.

Each abode in the community was small and neatly organized, according to custom.  The abodes were fashioned in such a way that an omn or umnn could see into each small room and keep an eye on a child, yet receive the privacy they needed.  Anor was in the area designated for the preparation of nutritional times and was watching the child as he carefully constructed his idea of what a now long extinct household pet called a horath looked like.  Remembering her history galaxy lessons of long ago, Anor thought how much a horath resembled an earth mouse except for the very long feet and tri-clawed toes; the feet themselves were almost an inch long.  What made the horath unusual was its smell.  It was almost like the animal had rolled in her flowerbed outside.  A not too unpleasant smell to her and one that had calmed her enough to fall asleep many time in her own youth.  It was an odour she would never forget and remember with fondness and love.

Her child would soon be learning these ancient lessons and hoped he enjoyed them as much as she had and that he would see the same similarities she did between the two animals.  There wasn’t much about the earth known to her planet, but what they did know, except about the animals, frightened them, both as children and as adults.  She hoped it wasn’t earthlings that were coming to visit.
