How to succeed in getting an interview with Roger Vizi on Author's Den Live Radio Talk Show
The beauty of Author's Den new Radio Talk Show is that anyone desiring to be invited for an interview can achieve this goal. It is not out of the reach for anyone. I was successful in being selected for a live radio interview and you can be too!
If you really want to be on this talk show, you have to be noticed as an author. You can't just set up a den here and hope that something magical is going to happen while you sit back and wait. You are going to have to do your homework and be willing to work hard at earning this interview.
I would encourage you to sign up for the Author Essentials Den right away. Yes it is going to cost you a few dollars but the rewards are well worth it. If you are a serious writer, consider this a business expense. Writing is a business, your writing is your business, so invest in it wisely. Put your money where it is going to benefit you.
Post your work in your den for everyone to see. Once your work is posted, look it over. It only takes a few minutes to correct grammatical errors. Use your imagination to add something to your work that will catch the readers eye immediately, before they read the first word.
I do this with pictures. I use wolf pictures because it represents something special to me. You can be creative with this idea and use it to your full advantage! Let the reader see what they are going to read about. Use the visual tools. They are there for you, so make the most of them!
Once your den is ready for public view, don't sit back and wait for the traffic to start flowing through your den! It might happen, but chances are not high that you will be an overnight success just because you are there.
Write an e-mail, explaining who you are, what you are doing and why a rating and review is so important to you personally. Tell them what you expect to accomplish with the reviews and ratings!
Let your friends, family, neighbors, business associates and contacts know that you desire a spot on Author's Den Radio Talk Show and that they can help you by visiting your den and rating and reviewing your poetry. Get them involved in your success! Most people enjoy helping someone achieve success and love thinking, "I helped that person get on the radio!"
No one is going to be better at promoting you than YOU. You are a writer, yes, but you are also going to learn to be a good salesperson if you are to find success as a writer. You must learn to sell your work to the public. Once the public becomes familiar with your work, others will follow, but it is your job to make it happen in the beginning. As with all jobs, you must approach this one with energy, determination and most important, a very positive attitude.
Believe in yourself and your work. If you believe your work is good and you know it's going to be of interest to the public, then don't be shy about telling everyone about it. Self promotion is the key to success, not just here at Author's Den, or in the writing world, but in every aspect of work we are challenged with. This does not mean that you are to become obnoxious and overbearing about your writing. Simply be willing to let other people know you are working for a specific goal and tell them how they can help you achieve this goal.
Do you belong to other online groups? Online friends can be a very valuable asset to you now. Contact them, let them know you want to be selected for the Author's Den Talk Radio Show and need their help. Many of our group friends spend a lot of time on the Internet, so this will be a nice way for them to do something personal for you.
As people start coming into your den and leaving ratings and reviews for your work, use good manners. These people are just your family and your friends, but they are your fans. Contact each person that leaves you a review and let them know how much you appreciate them doing this for you. Let them know how important it was for you and don't hesitate to tell them they have helped your success as an author!
If the traffic through your web site still doesn't move fast enough, start the self promotion strategy again. Write and remind people you need their help. In the e-mail, leave the link going directly to your den, to make it easy for them to visit your homepage at Author's Den.
If you belong to other writing groups, if possible, advertise through them and link to Author's Den. I did this through Stories.com and it helped a lot.
Do you have your own web page, outside Author's Den? If so, put a link directly to your den here at Author's Den. That technique worked well for me. I also put an article on my web site, www.sherrygibson.com, for people to read, telling them that I was desperately needing their help in getting selected for the Author's Den Talk Radio Show, and put a link to my Author's Den site. Check it out and read the message I have posted there. It worked very well for me.
The support group at Author's Den watches the number of people rating and reviewing any one piece of writing you have posted. They select people for an interview on the talk show by choosing those most popular to the reading audience. It is possible for each of you to be noticed!
In summary, if you do want to be invited as a guest on the Author's Den Live Radio Talk Show, spruce up your den, be creative, and above all else, learn how to promote yourself. Dreams can be turned into reality if you are willing to work hard to achieve your goal.
