ITS NOT YOUR FAULT.
Billions of dollars are spent every year on advertising that tells your kids its okay to eat foods that are addicting and unhealthy. Surrounded by this relentless advertising-thousands of images every day-and with the taste buds hopelessly distorted by syntheic flavors and chemical "fake foods", its little wonder that so many kids are overweight and addicted to sugary drinks and snacks.
The possible consequences of poor ingredient choices in your kids drinks, snacks and other food: WEIGHT GAIN, POOR PERFORMANCE IN SCHOOL, BEHAVIOR PROBLEMS, EARLY DEVELOPMENT OF ADULT DISEASE, LACK OF CONFIDENCE, LOW ENERGY, DEPRESSION.
How did this happen?
Good food didnt get replaced overnight. Its been a long, slow process that has accelerated over the past several years. Just a few decades ago, food was produced or caught locally, prepared at home and eaten with the family together. Today, that has largely been replaced by hurried trips to the freezer section, or a quick meal to go, with families often eating at seperate times, in many cases in front of the TV or a video game. Things arent much different at school. In recent years, fast food and junk food companies have used education funding shortages to secure lucrative concessions in places they know lack a PARENTS WATCHFUL EYE.
Do you think this is exaggerated? Then think again. The fast food and junk food industries make billions in profits feeding your kids emotions and appetites. Read the ingredients on a box of cereal. Then look at the price tag. Profits like that are hard to give up.
SO WHO IS IN CONTROL? Who controls your kids? Who controls their moods, their grades, attitudes, performance and attentions span? Is it you? Is it your kids themselves? Or is it all the junk food advertising that manipulates their thinking-and their metabolism? You decide. Did you know that certain ingredients in drinks and snacks control mood, energy, attitude and performance? Thats why the solution to so many of our current problems lies with proper nutrition. Success in that area is truly a family affair. We've gotten into this problem all together. We have to get out together.
One last thing we must understand; The Taste Problem.
The human body is beautifully engineered to detect what it needs in food: sensors for sugars, fats, salt, and many other compounds drive the desire to consume those foods in order to grow and thrive. But in nature, these compounds come in moderate doses, bundled with other nutrients, fiber, gums, and substances that moderate flavor and slow digestion and absorption. Not so with junk foods. Sugary and fatty snacks exploit those built in sensors and distort taste by concentrating sugar, processed flour and chemically alter fat-often rendering real food bland by comparison.
So where does this leave us and how do we combat this problem? The new product called Snazzle Snaxxs is an alternative to junk food snacks. This was created after hundreds of people and families spoke about their concerns of junk food and how it was affecting their children.
With the help of Dr. David Maccallan and David Ludwig, MD, PHD, at Harvard Medical School, author of the book "Ending the Food fight", they have created a solution to help combat the habitual desires our children now have on junk food. Snazzle Snaxxs arent meant to be a meal replacement or the place of healthy balanced meals. The foundation of good nutrition is fresh vegetables, lean proteins, occasional fruits in season and small servings of complex carbohydrates like whole grains. These snacks are a wonderful vitamin based snack to be used inplace of unhealthy snacks and sugary drinks. Lets take care of our children and give them the ingredients necessary for a healthy and prosperous life.
