“CREATION & EVOLUTION UNDER GOD’S DOMAIN”
It seems like anybody can comment on Evolution and Creation, so why not me. I do have some credentials. I was, am, and will always be a scientist and therefore I enthusiastically acknowledge that man existed before Creation of Adam and Eve almost six thousand years ago. I also have an unshakable belief in God, so I am a man of faith as well as a man of biological reason and logic. If you would like to learn more about me, pick up copies of my books, Divinely Inspired: Spiritual Awakening of a Soul and Messiah Interviews: Belonging to God or go to my website and Blog given at the end of this article. I must warn you at age 67, I am a novice at Blogging and social networking.
So you see. I am not just a guy off the street although there is nothing wrong with being Joe the Plumber as everything anybody has ever commented on Evolution and Creation is opinion. The one important opinion which we are missing, and that is not an opinion at all, would be God’s if He chose to take the public stage as I believe He once did back in biblical times.
As a scientific researcher, I familiarize myself with the earliest scientific research on the subject I wish to study. I did this also for the research on my book titles. Providing you have faith, you can easily do this for God. His earliest appearance we all know was in the Garden of Eden. If you are a non-believer, your first question should be not related to whether God exists. Rather, you need to ask a more profound question to the faithful. If God exists, where was God before He created Adam and Eve? Or as a colleague scientist of mine once put it to me. Where did God come from?
My answer to where He was before Adam and Eve is that God began our universe approximately 14 billion years ago, our earth 4.5 billion years ago, and He jumpstarted Evolution 3.8 billion years ago when we see the first fossilized forms of microorganisms. Before the creation of the universe, I have no answer as to where God was or where He came from. Further, I have no explanation as to how God could be with us 14 billion years ago and still with us today.
Einstein said that you cannot solve a problem at the level the problem was created. There is no doubt from watching Creationists, with or without Intelligent Design supporters, battle with proponents of Evolution that the controversy over Creation and Evolution seems to be created at the human level. Therefore, according to Einstein, we need to solve it another level. The only level that I see that can solve the problem short of God Himself is the Divine level.
I’m proposing that God created the problem in the first place. In my humble view, God is the master scientist responsible for both Evolution and Creation. If you get right down to the core of faith or scientific reasoning, the truth is that science cannot explain miracles, nor can miracles explain science. However, if you believe in an all powerful Omnipotent God as I do and One Who is all knowing or Omniscient, then God is the only One Who can explain the relationship between science and miracles. Humans achieve the possible while God accomplishes the impossible. An analogy put forth by a biblical sage is that Einstein provided understanding of our world but we wouldn’t have the world without God.
In the Bible, God has a quote, “As the Heavens are higher than the Earth, My ways are higher than your ways and My thoughts are higher than your thoughts.” We don’t understand the Essence of God and to even come close to understanding something of His plan for humankind, we have to abandon our human brains and try to think like God. Of course, this is an impossible task as we are limited in all that we are and do, while God is limitless and infinite.
The hypothesis is that human life as we know it since Homo sapiens was first seen on earth, perhaps one-hundred thousand years ago, is God’s scientific experiment. The objective of the experiment was to create an imperfect world where humankind could use the gifts of free will, language, thought, intelligence, imagination and doubt to lead an interesting life hopefully with purpose. The Garden of Eden represents the affirmation of good and evil although even before Adam and Eve when men were living as marauding bands in caves on the savanna, they were at each other’s throats. As God puts it to Noah in the Bible after the Great Flood, “The imagery in man’s heart is evil from his youth.”
To know perfection, you need to know imperfection, just as feeling hate really prepares you to love. The perfection that God has planned for us is a second blissful Garden of Eden, the Messianic Age at the End of Days. God’s scientific experiment was therefore to create an imperfect but dynamically challenging world so that in the End Times, when there would be a Christian or Jewish Messiah, we would be part of a more perfect world.
Arguments about Creation versus Evolution is actually a good thing and falls into the goal of God’s plan of creating an interesting world. However, we need to just accept each other’s personal views at this stage with the knowledge that we’ll come together in the Messianic Age. In the Hebrew Bible or Old Testament, we can reach the Messianic Age through either a peaceful transition or by an apocalyptic ending described in vivid detail in the New Testament. Disputes about Evolution and Creation fall into the peaceful category providing we have a disputation or friendly disagreement. When we condemn each other with expletives and disrespect each other, God scores that in favor of a violent ending for the world. If you realize the overall goal of the Divine, you can even bring a sense of humor to the table. We need to go beyond dogmatic and aspire to tolerance of each other. We don’t have to like each other.
I won’t go into detail here, but in the Epilogue of my book, Divinely Inspired, I discuss the origin of life which gave us Evolution. I also give my reasons why God created Adam which gave us Creation. In the Messiah Interviews, you can read about improving your moral character, so that you can be admitted into the Messianic Age. Like President Bush, I find that Evolution and Creation are not incompatible. It’s we humans that are incompatible. We need to act in ways that our Creator would approve of.
Following the Ten Commandments as best as we can meets the Creator’s expectations of us. None of us are perfect but we can improve. Being religious doesn’t mean you are a good person and are true and sincere in your heart. Religion won’t guarantee you salvation unless it’s part of your spirituality. There are good people among atheists and agnostics and there are bad people just like there are good religious people and there are bad. To get admitted into the Messianic Age, you need to be accountable to God. He is the keeper of the scorecard on your moral decisions. You can lie to yourself and you can fool other people, but you are an open book to God. He sees into your heart and into the crevices of your mind. Nothing is sacred.
I think that there is a false conception out there in the land of agnostics and atheists and even those of faith. Believing in God is not religion, although God probably set it up this way so that we would have you fellows around to condemn Him. It’s all about free will and ironically it’s God-given free will that He purposely offered to you, the disinterested party. I think that God expects only that we honor Him as the One God. We all need praise, so why not God. Geographical civilization began with Abraham, the father of Monotheism, but spiritual civilization began with the giving of the Ten Commandments at Mount Sinai.
The Ten Commandments to me represent the spiritual part of Judaism that were incorporated into the 613 Commandments of the Jewish religion. The Ten Commandments are not religion, so what’s all the fuss about? The founders of our nation knew it, but we moderns have turned such a precious gift into a three ring circus. I dare anyone to show me that the Ten Commandments are religious. We can’t do the double blind experiment. However, do you realize that without these Ten Commandments, we would long ago have faced our Armageddon. They are so important that God in His infinite wisdom decided to showcase the giving of these commandments in front of a crowd of 600,000 plus Israelites at Mount Sinai. This took place even before the biblical State of Israel was created by the Twelve Tribes of Israel settling the Holy Land under Moses’ disciple Joshua.
The Ninth Commandment states, “Do Not Testify as a Perjurious Witness Against Your Neighbor.” In Divinely Inspired, I interpreted this to mean that we should not slander our friends and others by gossiping or lying behind their back or in the courtroom where we didn’t tell the truth. I stretch this Commandment further. There is no excuse for wrongly hurting another individual in any way. I place physical, emotional, and intellectual abuse under this special commandment. From my own personal experiences, the hurt should also include embarrassing someone publicly and making someone feel inferior in public or private. The Ninth Commandment is especially appropriate to the way each side treats the other side in the Evolution or Creation issue. We act without even being aware of the harm that we are doing to one another.
Like all articles on Creation and Evolution, nothing in the end can be proven by this article. However, from personal experience, I can definitively claim that I don’t have to theorize about the reality of God. I can personally vouch for God’s miracles. I have been blessed with Divine Providence and Divine miracles in my life. I would not be here today if it were not for my Creator.
