Everyone in the world is on a journey. It consists of twists and turns where most of the time no one can be prepared. In my own journey my thinking about the world has changed. This occurred after I almost died in 2001.
Often I see that we talk about the world as if it is some far off place that we are not a part of, and the problems as if they are someone else's issues. The news is full of global warming, floods, earthquakes, war, poverty, gas prices, etc. Yet now instead of just pushing it aside I find myself realizing that everything that happens is and always has been about people. We are the ones, the regular everyday people, that need to decide what kind of world we wish to have and work together to achieve that.
For me it doesn't seem so far fetched to see that all energies expended should be about having each and every person on earth experiencing a productive and beautiful life. Every single person deserves this. It doesn't seem so far fetched that if we as people of the world decided to help each other in different ways that this could not be accomplished. We see things like this on smaller scales in neighborhoods or states when disasters occur. What if this was commonplace throughout the world?
In writing this article I simply am sharing some thoughts about humanity. I believe that thinking about what is ultimately important for humans should be decided together. Not by governments, or parliaments, kings and queens, or any social administrative structure. Instead talking with each other and being a part of each other with the preciousness of the human being at the forefront. To degrade, put down, or harm any human being is a disgrace but also sacrifices our souls.
I believe it is time to look at the world in terms of others, life, and yes ourselves. To have the world be about life for everyone. To say no to evil and harmful things together. To fully recognize that we are able to go the same direction with different and accepted journeys for all.
