When I saw the bracelets that had the letters WWJD on them I thought they were really cool.  What a great way to remind myself and others to stop and think before speaking or acting upon something.  The other day however I was just struck out of the blue with a realization.

My mind was going a million miles a second, what would Jesus do?  Jesus wouldn’t say harsh words. Right.  So when there is a person cursing and demeaning, and degrading in every sentence that came out of the person’s mouth, he wouldn’t come back at that person.  And when a person punched him in the face, he wouldn’t hit back.  Right?  When a person knocked him to the ground, he wouldn’t get up and beat the crap out of that person.  Isn’t that what is being said here.  Further if someone hated his guts, despised his very being, Jesus would still love that person.  Isn’t this what this question is proposing?

But wait a minute.  Isn’t this being a woose?  Isn’t this being weak?  People are suppose to stick up for themselves.  I mean no one messes around with us without retaliation.  Otherwise everyone thinks you’re a coward.  You have no guts.  You have no strength.  Who wants to know you?  You have to stick up for yourself or you’ll be walked all over.  You’ll be taken advantage of and you will have no respect at all.  I mean when people give you a hard time of course you are expected to come back at these people. 

But that’s not it at all for me.  To be hit and hit back is the easy way.  To be cursed and curse back is an eye for an eye.  To be hated and hate back changes nothing.  The hate will simply grow and become consuming.  Though standing up and not being held back or put down is absolutely important and necessary the message is to do that in positive energy ways.  But when this thinking comes into play, going against negative energy with positive energy,  the possibilities open up.

Instead to love when you are hated takes the strength of 10,000 angels.  To be belittled, demeaned and degraded takes the strength of 50,000 angels to not strike back.  To find solutions with others that will last for generations takes the strength of great men and women with the positive energies of the universe. 

What would Jesus do?  He would in every case pray that someday we all could stand up and say -----I have the strength of 50,000 angels, I have the strength of witnessing the universe move to be about people and life, and yes I am working towards having the strength of Jesus.
