Local author, Diana Baird visits Ambrose third grade classes

Local author, Diana Baird visited two thrid grade classes sharing her new book "The Old Man Who Talked to the Trees". The story is about the three trees planted on the ground of the Idaho State Capitol by U. S. Presidents.

Baird told funny jokes and introduced the class to her two puppets "Willie" and "Nutty Bud" characters in the book. She also shared stories about the Idaho State Capitol, and history about Presidents Benjamin Harrison, Theodore Roosevelt and William Taft who planted trees on the Capitol grounds 1903-1911.

Baird's visit to the classroom was preparation for the third grade classes tour of the Idaho State Capitol that same week.

"I think the kids were prepared to visit the State Capitol because they already knew significant history about it before touring". Diana Baird
