This is the first book in a seris of six novels. It is historical romance based in the Vietnam Era.

The early 1960’s…
America had elected the youngest President in U.S. history. "Ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country" was the challenge issued to young and old alike. Nightly news brought rioting and violence into our homes, either supporting or opposing Black civil rights. Through the miracle of television, taped footage showed our President being killed, then TV broadcast it’s first live murder days later. The peanut butter and jelly sandwich days of the 1950’s were gone forever. World events, and pop culture had repercussions on the lives of the people you knew, your family, your friends, and your neighbors.

Living through those turbulent times, only to find myself in the midst of a miserable divorce, inspired me to create a life very different than my own to escape the horrible reality of ending a 30 year marriage..  Memories flooded my mind of stories that returning Vietnam Vets had shared with me throughout the years.  For entertainment, since I had no TV, I developed  a story line without the restrictions of a formula book.  I chose to be self published as it became increasingly important to me to not change, or edit one word of any returning soldier's story.

I dedicated my first novel to Bruce, Walter, and John:

My friend, my cousin, my classmate, each made the ultimate sacrifice in Southeast Asia. To honor the deceased, their names are borrowed. Within the content of this book, their lives are purely fictional, however their deaths are not. Three young soldiers were killed in action, their personal stories can never be told. They have no choice, their voices were forever silenced.

This work is the prequel to future novels that, in part, detail several true life experiences of soldiers who survived their tour in Southeast Asia. To the Veterans who talked to me, thank you, for choosing not to be silent.

Welcome Home. I dedicate My Heart: To those who served in "Nam".

My Heart

honor  my  soldiers
'twas the war we did protest
too many breaking hearts recall
that young boys were blown to bits
K I A Bruce * Walter * John and all
the brave men that gave us their best
58000 young soldiers went Home
alone in separate graves rest
sharing one tombstone
their Brothers call
"the Wall"

Passion grows the moment Airman Jeffrey "Mad Dog" Madison gazes into the eyes of young, naïve Beth Campbell. As war threatens, this sensuous Historic Romance vividly details life. Step back in time as the Myth of Camelot is transformed into the Reality of Life.

'The Wind Whispers War' is indeed a thought provoking, and at the same time beautiful tribute to all the brave souls who fought and paid the ultimate price during the perilous years of war. Outstanding composition.
