If no one knows when Christ was born,the justification used for establishing December 25th; then, how do they know when He died? Lies versus Truth. Which does your denomination teach? "One lie renders the whole a lie."

CHAPTER TEN:

Christ's Birth, Death and Resurrection

Well over two hundred years after Christ ascended to heaven, the world of Christendom set aside December 25th as a day to celebrate our Lord and Saviour's birth: His resurrection celebrated on Easter, a floating holiday having occurred April 23rd in the year 2000. Where did these traditions come from? Are they true ? More importantly, are they acceptable to Yeshua? Scrutinizing God's Holy Word sheds a completely contrary light on Christendom's festivals and should cause every serious Christian, who is determined to please our One True God, to question the denominational pulpits they have relied upon for Biblical truths.

More importantly, Christians need to be aware that condemnation will pour out upon all entities guilty of instituting into Christ's church such paganistic idolatrous festivals. This applies equally to those Christians who gain the truth, yet continue to observe manmade commandments, traditions and festivals—regardless of their claim to do so in Jesus' honor. In His opinion, such professed Christians are rendering lip service and He does not know them. See TRUTH GATHERING chapter: "Fatal Lip Service."

However, as the title of this chapter implies, the identity of the perpetrator or perpetrators will not be discussed here. Thus, we begin with the conception and ultimate birth of Messiah, Jesus Christ our Saviour. Apostle Luke renders a very concise record for examination and it is logical to base dates on the Jewish calendar, which is the first calendar. Therefore, it is prudent to note that the first month of our year is January, as opposed to the Hebrew first month of the year being September. With that in mind, we begin Luke's testimony. Please note for the purposes of this reprint, scripture quotes will be contained between * * * * * asterisks while comments will be unbound.

* * * * * Luke 1:26-27,30-31,35-37, 38-42—And in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God unto a city of Galilee, named Nazareth, to a virgin espoused [betrothed, engaged] to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David; and the virgin's name was Mary. And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with God. And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS.

And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God. And, behold, thy cousin Elisabeth, she hath also conceived a son in her old age: and this is the sixth month with her, who was called barren. For with God nothing shall be impossible.

And Mary said, Behold the handmaid of the Lord; be it unto me according to thy word. And the angel departed from her. And Mary arose in those days, and went into the hill country with haste, into a city of Juda; and entered into the house of Zacharias, and saluted Elisabeth. And it came to pass, that, when Elisabeth heard the salutation of Mary, the babe leaped in her womb; and Elisabeth was fill with the Holy Ghost: and she spake out with a loud voice, and said, Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb. * * * * *

Luke conveys that Mary conceived Jesus in the sixth month (Adar) of the Jewish calendar, which equates to a Gregorian February. Luke further enlightens of Mary’s pregnancy having extended full-term, placing Christ’s birth around early to late (Cheshvan of the Jewish calendar) October of the same Gregorian calendar. The first year of AD was intended to be the year of Christ’s birth but, due to error, purportedly missed it by 2-1/2 to 3 years. Jesus was 33 and 7 months at His death in April of 31AD, thus it is proper to place His birth on or about October in the year between 4-1/2 to 3BC (calendar matching is provided herein).

* * * * * Luke 2:6-11—And so it was, that, while they were there [in Bethlehem], the days were accomplished that she [Mary] should be delivered [give birth]. And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn. And there were shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. And, lo, the angel of the lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid.

And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. * * * * *

Luke additionally chronicles that tax assessing was what prompted Joseph to take his pregnant wife to Bethlehem, further confirming an October birth inasmuch as tax collection following the first harvest of any given year. October is the second month of harvest time as well as the second month of the Hebrew new year. Add to this the fact that shepherds still were in the fields with their flocks when Gabriel appeared to them. This too would be normal since October is autumn in Israel (not winter, December [Tebet] or January [Shebat]). History reveals that their sheep would not have been in the fields during winter months.

Further, it was Joseph and Mary’s custom to travel with their family to Jerusalem every year for the two-day Passover festival, which begins March 31st (Nisan). Christ was twelve at the time His parents discovered Jesus missing three days into their return home from just such a trip. We’ll remember that Jesus was later found in the Temple, wherein He told Mary and Joseph that He was about my Father’s work. This, then, occurred on about April (Iyar) 6th, 9AD —remember the calendar discrepancy regarding the AD year of His birth, thus it would not have been 12AD.

Luke 3:23 reveals that Jesus was about to turn 30 when he was baptized by John and then spirited away by Satan for 40 days of temptation. It was following this event that Christ’s ministry began. Thus, we may conclude: His ministry began either with His baptism—about Sept. of 27AD—or following the 40 days—approximately late Oct. 27AD.

The Bible reveals that Christ’s ministry was 3-1/2 years to the point of His death—see Daniel c.9 regarding the 70-prophetic weeks, 490-literal years— allowing for restoration of the road to and the city of Jerusalem as well as the temple: then the Messiah’s ministry would begin at the onset of the 70th week—or last 7 years of the 490—and ending in the midst of the 70th week or 3-1/2 literal years.

Christ’s death occurred exactly 486-1/2 years following the onset of road and city construction. Therefore, it is appropriate to place Jesus' death in April 31AD—from point of baptism and just prior to His thirty-fourth birthday. This is in harmony with the fact Jesus and His Disciples shared Passover.

Luke 24:52-56 further confirms April (Iyar) of 31AD, informing us that Christ was placed in a tomb just as Sabbath came on, which is sunset Friday, following several events having begun with Passover—March (Nisan) 31st through April (Iyar) 1st. On Wednesday, April 1st, the last day of Passover, Judas betrayed Jesus for thirty pieces of silver. Late on Thursday night (the 4th watch), April 3rd, Judas arrived with soldiers and Jesus was taken prisoner. By the next morning, Friday April 4th, Christ had been condemned to death, sent to Pilate, who released Barnabas, and then Jesus was hung on a cross.

Luke 23:44-46 tells us Jesus died at about the ninth hour. God’s time remains reckoned as a night being from sunset to sunrise and daytime being from sunrise to sunset, with a 24-hour day determined as sunset-even to sunset-even. Therefore, if we assume the sun rose at about 6AM, then Christ’s death would have been on Friday afternoon at approximately 3PM. Luke additionally advises that Jesus was placed in the tomb just minutes before sunset, or at the onset of Sabbath, April 5th. This is reasonable considering that criminals were allowed to hang until almost sunset but not beyond: because it was against the law for anyone to hang overnight. Additionally, while Christ died at about 3PM, more time transpired while counsellor Joseph went to obtain permission to retrieve Christ's body.

With this data, comprehend that Christ obeyed the Sabbath even in death, for He remained in His grave until dawn of the first day of the week: Sunday, April 6th of 31AD.  Jesus then arose and was seen by at least 500 people over the next 40 days, after which He ascended to heaven. His ascension would have occurred on or about May (Sivan) 15th, 31AD. In each case of date citation, a Hebrew calendar is used specifically: it is the only calendar to agree Biblically. For instance: the Gregorian fifth month is May, which equates to the Hebrew ninth month of Sivan.

Now compare the two calendars set out below. Note: only religious holidays are included with each month appropriate to each calendar. One reflects God’s specific holidays for His Hebrews while the Gregorian reflects specific holidays pagan yet adopted by Christian professing denominations:

GREGORIAN                                   HEBREW

RESULTS:

1) Mary conceived Jesus sometime in February 4BC;
2) Jesus was born approximately early to late October 3BC (based on typical days of gestation);
3) Christ began His ministry on or about His 30th birthday, or October 27AD;
4) Jesus was crucified on Friday, April 3rd, 31AD, pronounced dead at approximately 3PM at the age of 33 years and 7 months;
5) At sunset April 4th, 31AD Jesus was placed in a tomb where He remained through Saturday Sabbath, April 5th, 31AD;
6) At dawn on Sunday, April 6th, 31AD Christ arose from the grave and was seen by many people for 40 days;
7) On the 40th day, about May 15th of 31AD Jesus ascended to heaven.

Wow! God's magic number seven. Since the whole Bible is about God, the Hebrews— Judah and Israel— Christ, and adopted Hebrews— pagan Gentiles— then it is most appropriate to discern these dates in accordance with ancient Hebrew calendars. After all, that is the time in which these records were written and events occurred. Biblically, there would have been no other calendar. Realistically? Yes, there were pagan calendars even then, but to use one of those would be to discern God's Word by the world: instead of spiritually.

Note: Hebrew calendars still are in use today among Orthodox and Christian Jews observing Jewish festivals. It remains the same as it was from the beginning of Creation. Therefore, the Hebrew September is the same September we recognize. It just happens to be the Hebrew's first month of the year, whereas a Gregorian calendar begins the year with January.

Using a Gregorian calendar to decipher God's Word causes interpretative error and no harmony will be found between scripture and appropriate historical data. For instance, Mary would have conceived in June 4 B.C., based on a Gregorian calendar, therefore placing Christ's birth sometime Febrary 3 B.C. Unfortunately, this would skew all other dates set out above. After all, Passover is March 30-April 01, according to ancient and modern practices. In using a Gregorian calendar, Jesus never could be placed at the Passover festival leading to His demise. At 31 years and 7 months old at death, it would mean Christ died September 5th of 33 A.D. The only Jewish festival in September is the Feast of Weeks. The Gospels state clearly: Christ and His Apostles shared the Passover meal, then Jesus was arrested early next morning. As El might say: to use a Gregorian calendar is to corrupt clues He provided.

As Christians, adopted into the Jewish family of God, we are subject to the same obedience. This means avoiding anything even slightly resembling evil. Thus, we can eliminate all holidays shown in a Gregorian or other non-Hebrew calendar. As adopted children, we may also eliminate most Jewish ordinance holidays shown in an Hebrew calendar. In fact, the only ordinances Christ commands of Gentiles and Jews are:  1) confession of sins; 2) baptism by water; 3) faith of and belief in Jesus as our Redeemer; 4) obedience to the Father's Doctrine, the Ten Commandments to include the two Royal Laws of love; 5) baptism of the Holy Ghost— to those who obey. Additionally, 6) work good works as well as use gifts of the Spirit to benefit the brethren; and, 7) perform, as often as we choose, the Lord’s Supper— communion, Passover— to include washing our brethren's feet as a symbol of service, as opposed to being served: in remembrance of Christ's sacrifice for us.

To observe any other holidays, including human birthdays, as well as establishing a counterfeit birthday for Christ, is a wicked example of vanity, idolatry and pagan worship. Whatever excuse we use to justify such behavior is exactly why Jesus said, “You do me lip service and I never knew you.” For example, pagan artifacts used for decoration— i.e. Christmas tree— or observing a pagan holiday— i.e. Christmas and Easter— and dedicating it to the Lord. It is an abomination to Yeshua and is counted as “lip service” heavily couched in pagan idolatry.

One other note, Bethlehem is located in the hilly or mountainous region of Israel. In winter months, beginning in December, temperatures get as low as 42 degrees at night. This is not so for previous months, especially concerning October, which remains very warm. Additionally, the Gospels do not indicate freezing winter with snow on the ground at Christ's birth—a familiar Christmas scene with which we've all grown up. All these little subtleties grouped together cause the world to believe lies and walk after Satan unaware, guilty by virtue of not checking out the facts for self.

Also, consider portraits of Christ rendered by various artists over the centuries. They paint quite a beautiful being and tout Him as quite tall and slender and blue-eyed: which might seem in keeping with the Shroud of Turin. Might such artistic beauty be a contributor to society's obsession with beauty? Scriptures describe Jesus otherwise. Long before Christ's birth, He was described as "marred (deformed, ugly) more than any man, small of stature, his body without form; nothing beautiful about him to cause people to follow him; people turned away from looking at his marred, deformed black body and disfigured face; a man of sorrows and grief and pain. Pick up a copy of  TODAY, JESUS SAID by the commentator hereof. One might be quite surprised by what the Bible really reveals compared to what preachers and theologians teach.

The irony of the facts presented hereinabove is: Theologians throughout the ages always have maintained that Christ was born sometime in October. Christians need to ask themselves: Why, then, are we taught that no one knows when Jesus was born? Remember: Yeshua said, One lie renders the whole a lie. If Satan can convince the world of just one lie, he has succeeded in achieving our damnation— IF we ourselves do not investigate God's Word personally.

Would you obey the laws of man or the laws of God? Surely, we ought to obey God.

Before we leave this chapter, however, let us read what Christmas and Easter really are and why they insult the Lord and are an abomination to Him. Please note: directly above text body of the following page is information indicating from where its data was retrieved. It is cited separate from this page in order to avoid any appearance of agreeing with its contents: rather, pointing out that pagan rituals are alive and well and they rejoice that professing Christians share their blasphemous festivals. * * * * *

* * * * * How can true Christians observe these or any holidays while claiming honor to God and Jesus Christ? It is an abomination to our Father Creator. In His mind it is unacceptable to place our ONE TRUE GOD within the framework of false gods. This is exactly what Jesus meant by flattering lips and creating images of God after corruptible men: this and much more. Warning! He declared of those who do such things, "I do not know you." Even the Christmas tree is of pagan origin and well described in: * * * * *

Jeremiah 10:2-4,~5,8—Thus saith the Lord, learn not the way of the heathen, and be not dismayed at the signs of heaven; for the heathen are dismayed at them. For the customs of the people are vain: for one cutteth a tree out of the forest, the work of the hands of the workman, with the axe. They deck it with silver and with gold; they fasten it with nails and with hammers, that it move not. They are upright as the palm tree, but speak not: they must needs be borne [carried], because they cannot go [by themselves]. But they [the heathen] are altogether brutish and foolish: the stock is a doctrine of vanities [idolatry].

* * * * * Several years ago, the youth minister of our church spoke of a personal experience on his job. It was nearing Christmas and one employee— most verbal about her Wiccan membership and Druid ties and very much aware of the youth minister's Christian beliefs— asked him: "If you believe in God and in Christ, then why do you celebrate our festivals?"

Now, she assumed he did so because, like all the other employees, he did not work on those days. Of course, hers was an erroneous assumption. How could he work if the company was closed and locked up for the holidays? Fortunately, our youth minister was able to reply, "I don't celebrate any pagan festivals: including Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter or personal birthdays, nor do I honor any man."

Thanksgiving? Yes, its origins are Celtic: originally an eight-day festival in honor of their harvest gods and brought to the United States by the first settlers. Nevertheless, our youth minister was ONE witness in God's favour. Sadly, many of us might work with Wiccan and Druid followers unaware. Thus, it is by what we say and/or do that we witness for or against God to those practicing witchcraft.

Also several years ago, a well-known actress serving a short stint as a talk show host presented a program for Halloween: her guests a man and woman, both of whom were proud Wiccan members. Near the show's conclusion, the hostess asked, "What do you think about Christians observing your festivals?" She referenced not only Halloween but Christmas and Easter as well.

The woman responded quickly, "It just proves to me that I've chosen the right religion because it's obviously the world's oldest religion. Otherwise, Christians would not share our rituals."

This Wiccan witch revealed a multitude of Christians unwittingly witnessing against God. Alas, unwittingly or wittingly, each are found just as guilty before our Creator Father. As for witchcraft being the oldest religion: I beg to differ. After all, worship of God the Creator began with Adam and Eve. However, the most important question to ask self: "What kind of witness for God and Christ am I, both in word and deed? And, what am I going to do about it?"

Biblical scholars have long been in agreement that the biblical Jesus was born sometime in October; some evidence you have included nicely in your informative article. And historians have long agreed that the Pope chose December 25th for a day to celebrate Jesus's birthday in a move to pacify Germanic converts to Christianity who did not want to forgo their winter festival around the evergreen tree.

What remains a mystery are the missing segments of the Bible that the Romans removed at the Council of Nyceae. Where is the Gospel of Jesus according to Thomas? or according to Barnabus? or the Secret Gospel according to Mark? Most importantly, where is the Gospel of Jesus according to Jesus? There is much to discover yet, which makes it difficult to be dogmatic.

I wont say too much on this subject, but always as a child, it was apparent to me that Christ could not possibly of been born in Dec as the bible cleary states, the Shepherds watched their flocks by night. Now last time I checked, Dec in Israel, is Cccccold, and no one is outside at that time of year.
We never celebrated this pagan holiday either and still dont.
Good on you, ppl can rubbish us all they like, but if they are so learned then why not pick up the bible and just read it properly, it is self explanitory.
