Newsletter Article for South Pasco Predators-- this article was supposed to appear in the Predator Post. I am not sure if it ever did....

No, we are not changing our colors again!

The Predators are “Going Green!”  The South Pasco Predators are the first Land O Lakes Sports team to Recycle!  We are starting a trend that will benefit Pasco for years to come!

Many of you have noticed the recycling bins donated by Keep Pasco Beautiful, Inc. and are using them!  Thank you!  On average game days the South Pasco Predators and our visiting teams have kept four (4) Forty-Four (44) gallon bags of plastic bottles out of Pasco land fills!

That’s 176 gallons of plastic and aluminum per home game!

To date that is 704 gallons recycled!

Not bad, Predators! We recycle like we play ALL OUT!

Just some guidelines for you recycler’s out there

  • Remove caps from bottles and place caps in garbage before recycling the bottles!
  • Wash out your soda, Gatorade and Juice bottles PLEASE or Board members will be forced to do it for you and we are so busy as it is!
  • Don’t put garbage in the recycling bins!  It can destroy a whole bag of recyclables, please only put bottles and cans in the clear plastic bags!

We need volunteers to help wash out and remove caps for those that don’t think before they recycle...please see Debra Fleming . Merchandising or Lisa Versharen (Team Mom Cood.) If you want to help!

We need volunteers with trucks to take cardboard from concession to drop off locations for recycling on Practice nights and Game Days!  Please see Debra Fleming . Merchandising if you want to volunteer!

Next steps!

The Predator Post will be  DIGITAL via e-mail from now on to save on paper costs and to save trees!  Please check your e-mail on Fridays and print only the pages you need for Saturday’s game!  Don’t forget to recycle your printed paper after the game!

WHY WE ARE GOING DIGITAL: Recycling one ton of paper saves 17 trees 6,953 gallons of water, 380 gallons of oil, 587 pounds of air pollution, 3.06 cubic yards of land fill space and 4, 077 kilowatt hours of energy!
