"Go And Be Children of The Church" is an article for all Christian Catholics.
The last instruction that Mother Seton gave to her Sisters in her Holy Order of The American Sisters of Charity of St. Joseph was "Go and Be Children of The Church", and then she received one more Holy Eucharist and passed away into eternity.
This past weekend we lost our beloved, Holy Father, Pope John Paul II, at the age of 84. He was an ordinary man who did extraordinary things.
Our late beloved Holy Father worked to bridge the gap between Christian-Catholics and other Christians of other Protestant Denominations and between Christian-Catholics and Jewish and Christian-Catholic-Muslims as well.
He embraced humanity and looked upon every person as a Child of God and his shoes will be hard to fill, but with the Grace of God and College of Cardinals we must entrust the duty to elect a New Holy Father who will have the same ability to embrace people of every faith group, race, and ethic group.
Our Late Beloved, John Paul II was a Child of The Church and some then.
He started as a humble and devote Priest in the Catholic Church in Krakow, Poland and then he was elevated to Bishop, then Archbishop, and then finally he elected to oversee the Church here on earth.
He followed the instruction that Mother Seton ( Later on St.Elizabeth Ann Baley Seton) gave to her Sisters of the Holy Order she found to go out and be children of the church.
This Our late Beloved Holy Father did. He embraced the ideology of "Go Out and be a Child of The Church".
The New Holy Father will have a lot of issues to deal with upon his election.
There are many issues that need to be bought up and worked on.
The first issue is the decline in the priesthood. Some Catholics would like to see Priests be allow to marry.
The Church could follow in the footsteps of her Sister Orthodox Churches that allowed married men to enter into the Priesthood. However, single men who enter into the Priesthood may not get married.
There is all kind of Scripture to support this claim. We only need to read I Timothy:3 and it will support the claim.
However, there is no scriptural suppport to back up the ordaination of women into the ministry. No scripture means no support.
The Church needs to look at the marriages between a Christian Catholic and Non-Chrisian-Catholic marriage.
This is in lieu of The Terri Schiavo case.
Terri Schiavo was a practicing Christian-Catholic and she was allowed to marry a Christian-Protestant Lutheran. He was not even a Practicing Lutheran.
The Church needs to stress that we don't need to marry outside of our Christian Catholic Faith. IF we do, we will have world of problems and possible divorce some years down the road.
The Church needs to stop advocating that couples have children unless the church decides to support those children.
Some couples don't want children. They know they are not meant to be parents. They love each other and they love the kind of life they have. Children would not cause them problems.
There are non-scriptural matters like Birth Control and family planning.
Yes, we can still be good Christian Catholics and still disagree with the Church teachings and stand on certain non-scriptural issues.
One thing I would like to see the church do is stop advocating adoption.
Afterall, they don't need to advocate something that is destructive to the "true and natural" family. The one that is created by God and Nature. Not the State Adoption Laws and The Adoption Industry.
We need to turn back some of the rules of the Church whereas women don't wear short skirts, slacks into the church.
Especially jeans which were created for men.
The Church needs to consult the Bible on how men and women should dress if we are to be light of the world and salt of the earth.
Afterall, first impressions count.
There is many issues that the church needs to deal with and resolve.
Our Next Holy Father has his job set out for him to do.
I, favor one of two German Cardinals. This is because they are both moderate in some ways and liberal and open minded in other ways. They know the problems that the church is besiged with.
The Church needs to make sure she works on continuing dialogue with other Faith groups and communities. The church needs to bridge gap even more and all.
Our Late Holy Father had done the Mea Cupas for the Church. However, there is still many more Mea Cupas to do.
I am Child of The Church. I have been since 1996. I came into the church in The Archdiocese of Chicago under Joseph Cardinal Bernadin.
Our late Cardinal Bernadin died in November of 1996 and Our new Cardinal, Francis George did not come into Archdiocese until Acension Thursday of 1997.
I was born in a Christian Protestant Family. My late mother was a Southern Baptist and My late father a Southern Methodist. There is so much ammonsity between The two churches.
I went from one Protestant Church to another and never found what I was looking for spiritually. I found it only in 1996 when I was received in to the Holy Mother Church on Easter Vigil of 1996.
The Holy Mother Church is far from perfect. She does have her problems. However, she is united and as a Christian Catholic we are not only a member of a local church but the worldwide Church.
There is no transferring your membership from one conference to another and waiting to be received into that Conference.
My whole family accept my two brothers are now Christian Catholics.
We are called to be "Children of The Church and Go out and preach the gospel of salvation and witness to those who are receptive to the gospel message.
To the echo the words of St. Elizabeth Ann Baley Seton" Go and Be Children of The Church".
Elizabeth Ann Baley Seton was canonized on September 14, 1976 by the Late Holy Father, Pope Paul the Sixth.
