Rummaging through drawers looking for something when I found this.

I submitted the outline for The Climbing Boy to The Writers Guild of America in order to give me copywrite protection in July of 1984

Starting to write “The Climbing Boy” in 1982, then re-writing and re-writing and re-writing, I then began the arduous... Excuse me, as I then began the impossible task of finding either an agent or a publisher.

The “Writers Market” became my bible and, as this was the time before computers, each query being sent to the hundreds of agents and publishers that said they would look at the work of a writer even if, so these publishers said, even if the writer did not have an agent. and the hundreds of agents that said they would look a the work of an unpublished writer.

As it turned out, at least for me, this is Catch 22 situation because, at least for me publishers would not look at my writing because I did not have an agent and agents would not look at my writing because I had never been published.

Then, a publisher saw "The Climbing Boy" liked it and published it in 2003, followed five years later with "Becoming" and we are now working on the fourth round of editing for "For Better or Worse" which should be published by March or April.

So now, after near twenty-eight years, thanks to my wonderful agent, Marsha Cook, on Thursday evening, December 10, 2009, I received an Option Agreement from a Hollywood production company that wants to make either a real life on animated movie of  The Climbing Boy into a new "Christmas Classic".

At this time, after all these years, all I can say is, "From your mouth to God's ear."

After reading your work, no one deserves more as Charles Dickens is smiling his approval.
