What Makes You So Special?

Taken From My Blog

Did you know that every year at least 44,000 Americans die because they have no insurance? What about them, who is considering them in this whole debate about socialized medicine and public options? People, they don’t just get sick and suffer without medical care, they DIE.

Did you know that if you are uninsurable because you are sick or have a preexisting condition, or uninsured for any number of reasons, when you might finally get desperate enough to go to an emergency room you have no assurance that you will receive free health care? Quite the contrary, even if you have a very low income, you will most likely be faced with an astronomical bill and the hospital will use any means available to them to collect it! That includes collection agencies that hound you into an early grave, garnishments of your salary or any kind of support you receive or any IRS refund or tax credit. Even court judgments and liens against your property if you own any.

They don’t care if you are struggling to keep a roof over your head and food on your table, they don’t care if you are disabled, they will try to collect on your hospital bill. And did you know that just basic tests that are often done to determine what’s wrong with a patient, just tests without treatment, can mount up to thousands of dollars. Not little thousands, more like thirty, fifty or more! And if you are unfortunate enough to require surgery it can go higher than you can begin to imagine, hundreds of thousands. How on God’s earth is a person with no insurance going to pay such bills? Did you know that more than 60 percent of bankruptcies in America are totally or partially due to medical bills?

Have you ever lost someone you love because they couldn’t afford health care? Have you ever seen someone you love suffer because they have no money for medical care and if they are using indigent or government facilities they are getting substandard care? Some get all ballistic about losing their “Good” health care plans and they don’t give a thought about those who can’t have and never will have quality medical attention unless the government at last makes a way to have health care for every citizen.

What makes you better or more deserving of medical care than anyone else? Why is your insurance plan (which you aren't going to lose) more important than those bearing the burden and pain of having none and being unable to obtain insurance?

Here’s a link I want to share with you, it’s just in the organizational stages but it has a lot of facts that you need to see and it has provided a place for a memorial for those who have lost their lives due to non access to medical care. Please take a look at it with an open mind. These are real people, they had names and lives and they mattered to someone. They are someone's loved ones who DIED because they had no health care.

Read about it and then stop acting like your health is the only health that matters.

I know. What good is advanced technology if only the elite can take advantage of it?

Can't understand that the American people has supported, accepted and even priced the fortune of greedy blood suckers parasites with only one goal in their lives, to take away everything you and me owns.

What you describe is truly a crime, Belle; particularly in this "modern" day and age. Thank you. Love and best wishes,
