Take a showroom journey with Sage Sweetwater going back in time clocked in modern-day Westcliffe, Colorado
Main street Amish-owned and operated Yoder's Mountain View Furniture by Enos & Amos Yoder. Their Amish culture and pride shows in their spiritual works of hand-crafted art including fine furniture, quilts, tack & wagon. The simplicity of yesteryear with a laid-back pint of hard cider in my drinking steer horn reclining in the Chair of Solitude. I love this place!

| Here in rural Pennsylvania, our neighbors are Amish. Every evening, my daughter and I take a long walk that leads us past two beautiful Amish farms replete with buggies, kittens, clothes lines bearing homemade attire, chicken coupes, cows, horses, among everything you might expect and hope for. On Sundays, our closest neighbor often hosts service and his field (which normally is full of sheep) is filled to the brim with black buggies. You can hear them all coming in mid-morning as the horses' hooves clomp along our back road. If you close your eyes, you can transport yourself back in time and pretend - for a while - that the modern automobile never traversed the countryside. One of my favorite sights is to watch the Amish children play in their little dresses, bonnets - boys in their pants held secure with suspenders - all in bare feet and happy as can be. They run to greet us and we share stories about our day. Their dogs Ranger and Lucy have become good friends and drop on their backs for a hearty belly rub whenever we pass by. It's wonderful. Thank you for reminding me just how wonderful! |
