Wednesday, 3/9, listened to the entire CAIR Presentation on CSPAN.
Have to admit it was interesting.
Have previously read negatives, that it
Was ‘backed’ by HAMAS and SAUDI ARABIA.

The Presenters and Guests seemed quite knowledgeable,
Intelligent, and sincere.
I wanted to learn more, in order to understand
The Facts and Fiction surrounding Islamo-Phobia.

The Basic gist of what they were all saying was that
Millions of Muslim-Americans were Not Radicals, nor Terrorists.
That they too, were Patriots and Loved America.
They were trying to Dispel the Negativism.

I must admit that I felt more comfortable about the situation,
But was not thoroughly convinced, as this format was obviously
Skewed to the right, conservative in nature,
In order to Prove their intent.

Many comments were totally Negative about Representative King’s
Impending Hearing that was being televised the very next day.
He was being compared to Senator Eugene MacCarthy
And MacCarthyism - like a ‘Witch-Hunt’ gone Awry!

The very next day, on Thursday, March 10th,
I listened to his entire Homeland Security Hearing,
And was Very Impressed by all the Speakers and Guests.
In my humble opinion, this Hearing brought out a lot of Facts!

While ‘Radical Islam’ is a terrible thing, and must be Stopped -
Finding the ‘Root Causes’ and addressing them is Critical.
“Know Thy Enemy!” can only be achieved by Dialogue,
Which promotes a clearer Understanding of the issues involved.

While it may be wrong to ‘Profile’ and Stereo-Type a Group,
Sometimes it is a ‘Necessary Evil’ which arouses deep feelings
Of Persecution, and causes that very group to ‘Get Involved.’
The exchange of Information through Dialogue can open up Doors.

This Hearing brought to the Fore that the Greater Majority
Of Muslim-Americans had cooperated with Investigative Agencies,
And actually Supplied Helpful Information, which THWARTED
Several Terrorist Plots contrived on our Soil!

This Alone, is a paramount consideration that the Public
Was not really aware of, mainly because of ‘Negative Press’ by the Media.
There is a Major Difference between Moderate Muslims’ Religious Beliefs,
And Islamism as an Idealology of Theocratic World Domination.

Many, many young Americans, both Muslim and Non-Muslim
Are being ‘Radicalized’ via various sources, at all levels,
And especially College Students!
It is Not just the Poor, and ‘Dis-Enfranchised’!

One Congressman, a Mr. Green, vehemently reminded us of the K.K.K.
He pointed out several of the Atrocities perpetrated by them,
All in the name of ‘Christian Religion’!
Similar Hearings on other such Groups may very well be Forthcoming?

The Cowardice of Terrorism and Radicalism may be Despicable,
But, it comes in many Faces and Forms.
My Hope is that Mr. King has finally Opened up a ‘Can of Worms’
That needs Much More Discussion, Dialogue, and Enlightenment!

If America is to return to a State of Peacefulness and Security,
EVERY AMERICAN must ‘Wake Up and Smell the Awful Offal!’
