In search of survival in the 3rd world and poor countries of the world

Abstract

For a small or large country to survive in the 21st and 22nd centuries, the world must understand the mechanics of economics, and healthy growth must be triggered on behalf of the peoples of each of those countries, and not by th e greed of a few who opt to rape the funds and opportunities that should have been for the good of all. The people of each country must develop “A WAY of Life” and it must allow for those people to interface with the world.
We all look to the United Nations for guidance and to the World Bank for financial assistance, but in the end, many opportunities fall by the way side because the funds are diverted for personal or other inappropriate use or purpose.
Local governments looking for persuasive reasons to allow business to be transacted for their benefit hinder the opportunities that could have been realized.
Though this does not hold true for all countries, there are still too many of them and they hinder the growth of those countries trying to emerge and get on track to a better tomorrow.
What is shameful in the Western World is equally shameful in the Third World and Poor Emerging Countries. The shame is scams: Illegal transfer or use of funds, use of fraudulent documents, scamming the banks, banks that scam, extortion by virtue of gr eed, and abusive use of the freedoms to conduct legitimate business. Many affluent countries have taken advantage of poorer countries and people usually run these business dealings with millions of dollars in capital to float. These dealings go from the trafficking of women and children, drug distribution, exportation of inferior products to acceptable world specifications, circumventing government customs by using governmental channels for distribution. In reality the “Selling” of women and children to affluent nations as “Products” instead of human beings needs to be stopped. What this is also doing is spreading disease into other parts of the world such as HIV, STD’s and other
Diseases.
The Silent World of HIV is only silent because there are only a few of us who know what is happening in the background. An individual cannot sit in Geneva or Brussels and say that HIV is not on the increase without going into the world and physically seeing the underground operations of selling human flesh and the fact that diagnosis and testing the general population on a large scale has been avoided with emphasis placed on solving the AIDS problem and developing drugs to combat AIDS. There are othe r diseases far worse than HIV and the AIDS problem. There are other diseases that if they were not present conditions in a woman, she might not acquire the HIV virus.
Realists in the 21st century are those of us in the international community who understand the world as it was yesterday and as it is today. We can build or cause the building blocks to fit properly for the people as well as business and go vernment. Realists are individuals who have no need for greed, but can be paid well for their contributions and who are willing to live, work and play in any surrounding, no matter how desolate or poor. To be able to go from a glass of fine wine to a poo r farmer’s house in the jungle with ease, is the picture of a worldly realist: One who can communicate effectively no matter how bad the language barrier, is a true realist.
Former President Lucinschi of Moldova, said it well at the UN Millennium Summit –
“We need help – but we need cooperation and we need honest people with legitimate interests.” Well, how about governments? Should they not be Honest and act with legitimate interests as well? Or, is business still looking at a one-way street when it c omes to relocation, deployment and starting up a new enterprise to put people to work in any country of the world?
Many businesses in the Western World would cooperate and help factories upgrade, seek outside export markets and build a secure future for people, but much of what has been tried in the past has frequently been hampered by government rules and regulat ions that won’t work in the 21st Century and beyond.
Redesigning government is a must for all countries so that there is no conflict between governments. Leaders and workers must be educated to the world and to business. They must understand the needs of the people and how to succeed in developing impor t and export business without high tariffs, taxes, special permits, special license and whatever can be dreamed up to siphon off a few dollars.
Those of us in the West who have roots in the East from past family migration must remember that the people in this world are no different than anyone else. There should be no more separatism as a country. A country is the people who populate it and i t belongs to the people. A government should be for the people and by the people. It should have control of its internal affairs for the good of its people. It should empower itself to bring in active business relationships that will build a future for t he people and the country as a whole.
Leaving all this as “Food for Thought,” a government must maintain its ability to protect its borders, its people and the integrity of its government by maintaining and active armed force at whatever level it can economically afford. If the people of any poor country can work together and then learn to work with legitimate, honest outsiders, there is a fighting chance to survive in an ever-changing world.
Every poor country has something the world needs, but all too often, the people in power abuse that something. Abused for themselves, and/or for their own select group of beneficiaries. The same goes on in the West, but sometimes we are able to contro l it a little better.
Governments of countries wanting to move up the ladder of success must invite and allow those from the international community to actively help to get many of the internal restrictions, which no longer work, removed. Successful modernization is someti mes difficult and should be done in moderation at the start, and with the people involved as a country. A government should not force control, but rather be the overseer of conformance to reasonable rules, regulations and specifications etc. and deal wit h the non-conformance issues as a separate problem, and let the people do the rest.
A thousand businesses employing 100 people each is far better than one business employing 1000 or 10000. Diversity is the key to international success.
Cooperation is easy – it is the easiest part of change. Greed and demand for power and money is the part that will cause disagreements, conflicts and failures for the future.
Misunderstandings, when recognized as legitimate, are easy to correct when mutual goals are within reach.
To tie the knot between business, government and the world – an honest government must accept a marriage between legitimate entities. The people of the world must accept and respect each other. Sadly, this will not be a reality in most cases. If for o nly 5 or 10 percent of all poor countries rise to a new level that benefits its people and their country, then that effort will have been worth more than all the riches of the world.
Imagine if we could rid the West and the East of Immorality? Wow, what a step in controlling sexually transmitted disease that kills as well as other diseases. What a gift in preserving the lives of people who are forced to do things they cannot contr ol. In looking at the West and the East – both sides have forgotten about family and family values. Both have forgotten about the laws of all religions.

Excellent article. I personally would like to see all American funds diverted for our domestic problems, and then maybe every child in this country would have food on the table, a home to come home to, and parent who could have jobs paying 'a living' wage. We've supported the Marcos', Noreiegas' and every despot whose had his hand out. It's time to feed our own. All one has to do is drive on a reservation in AZ and know there are some horrible inconsistancies in the way we treat our own.
