For a Yahoo group, I chose to write about my first car that was my own in title. I had a car when driving as a teenager, but Mom had the title.

My first car was my father’s car. He gave me the title too! It was a four door Buick Le Sabre 1977. Daddy kept it in excellent condition! He had decided to buy a new car and give me his old car to drive while I was in College in the state of Missouri. Yes, I live in Texas, but I ventured out and went far away from home to Missouri.   Fulton, Missouri to be exact!

I was grateful to Daddy for giving me his old car so I would have transportation in Missouri. It helped out so much when I sought psychological help in the next town over from Fulton, Missouri where I went to college. I got counseling in Columbia, Missouri and my counselor was an “Angel” to be honest! I put him through many trials! He is the only counselor I had for a full 6 years before I had to come back to Texas. I have never had counseling completely with someone since then. Needless to say, I miss him! I have written a poem about him as well!

Then, there was getting used to driving on snow! That was a new thing! I got used to it though and driving on ice! We would get snow and ice in Missouri since it is higher up in elevation!  In Texas, once in a blue moon we would get ice or snow!

When my first lesion was diagnosed, I would drive to Kansas City, Missouri, about 130 miles west of Fulton and then drive to Chicago, Il and visit neurosurgeons there as well. The car held up just fine. Thank God! I could always count on it in times of trouble!
