A 'Do Not Resuscitate' Order was issued for me, and I was told I had 10 days to live.

That was the opinion of a team of gastroenterologists in 1992.
I then spent three months in an old folks' home while my family waited for me to die.
When I did not I was inspired to write a story I had abandoned years earlier which SCIENTIFICALLY PROVED that Jesus Christ was indeed our savior and that we - as a species - had indeed evolved over time as both fossilized and DNA evidence has indicated.
However, our 'social evolution' puts us in such a distant stage from what Christ had envisioned that I seriously doubt we will meet his criteria for immortality until billions of years from now as I have noted in my novel, THE FINAL PHASE.
The Terry Schiavo case is just another glaring example of how primitive we truly are. Meanwhile, we sentence Dr. Kervorkian to prison as a cold-blooded murderer.
At the same time, we go on merrily killing one another in wars of our own creation while denouncing stem cell research as being a form of senseless killing.
But - as Jesof Gallion might reflect - "What else might one expect from a horde of relatively-hairless, bi-pedal apes?"

Well written and informative.
This statement is so profound: The Terry Schiavo case is just another glaring example of how primitive we truly are. Meanwhile, we sentence Dr. Kervorkian to prison as a cold-blooded murderer.

i was not expected to survive when i was born nearly 46 years ago; doctors gave me and my twin sister last rites, and i had virtually no chance of surviving (karla had a slightly better chance than i did, but not much); we were born three months premature, and we weighed 3.5 pounds together (karla weighed 2 pounds, and i weighed just 1 pound, five ounces!), and back then, they just didn't have the technology to keep tiny infants like us alive. but god had other plans; and we are both still kickin' nearly 46 years later! doctors do not know everything, and we are living proof of that. glad you are still around! :)

(((HUGS))) and love, from one miracle survivor to another, your friend in tx., karen lynn. :D

It seems like we will never learn. We have so much evidence right before our eyes and at our finger tips. We are numb and oblivious to all God's treasures.

You are correct and I was told that I would die in two weeks to two months. Which proves that they do not always know what they are talking about. The thing is that the case has made people put their wishes in writing and takes away the option of having someone else decide for you that may have other motives.
