Merry Christmas
Another Failed Attempt
by J.Vincent Martin
Know ye all, that all the King's horses, and all the king’s men, can never steal Jesus from our hearts my friend. Hence, “The History Channel” and those other fools of the boob tube trade who are trying to define Jesus, not as the embodiment of God, but just a plain old good guy, are just wasting their time and efforts. “The Mystery of Christmas?” How stupid! It has never been a mystery before. In fact, there is no mystery about it at all. Christmas is simply the celebration of the coming of God to earth, to walk among us as one of our own. To enlighten us with God’s love and empower us over Satin. What’s the big mystery? Then of course, there’s BCE? Before the common error, rather then BC, Before Christ. Who the hell was Common Error? Never heard of the guy! Of course, historians, like the other
persecutors of Jesus in the past, know far more about The God they don’t believe in then us. After all, they were present when Jesus walked the earth. Surely, you’ve read the Gospels according to Matthew, Mark, Luke, John and “The Historians.” All based on first hand knowledge and experience. Then of course, there is St. Leonardo De Vinci, who also was a good friend of Jesus back in 23 AD. In fact, Jesus confided in this genius alone that he really wasn’t the personification of God on earth. Then we are lead to believe that about 1500 years later this genius encoded this confidence within his paintings. True, De Vinci was a talented painter, but I’m afraid he never really knew Jesus. Nor was he a genius, either. He drew pictures of a giant cross bow, and even made a giant horse of mud. If that’s a sign of genius, then I guess I must be a genius, too. When I was about six or seven I used to draw pictures of people flying through space in rocket ships. That was years before anybody every orbited the earth. I guess I could have made a big mud horse, too, but I really didn’t see any purpose in doing that. But, then again, Leonardo was a saintly man. He drew pictures of multi-barreled canon, and other types of killing and maiming machines. Then with his divine love of humanity, he went about trying to find people to finance the making of this death machines, so thousands of people could be butchered more easily. Yes, a Godly man indeed, who definitely had a secret intimate knowledge of Jesus’ life on earth.
This of course, is not the first time an attempt on the life of Jesus was made by evil doers. Caesar failed, so did Stalin. Both Caesar and Stalin thought that the threat of death would vanish his memory and love from the earth. They were wrong, and failed miserably. You see, they just didn’t get it. Jesus had already freed us from death with eternal life, and with all their might they really have no power over us at all. True, they can physically remove The Ten Commands from a courthouse if they wish, and they can curse and insult Jesus in the public domain. But no matter what power they weld, be it government or corporate, they will never be able to remove Jesus from our hearts. You see. Jesus was a good man, indeed as was Buddha, Confucius and Mohammed. But there is one different that defines the divinity of Jesus alone. Unlike Buddha,Confucius and Mohammed, Jesus’ coming was foretold, and his arrival his on earth was heralded by angels. That my friend is Christmas!
A Happy, Holy and Merry Christmas to all, and peace on earth to men and
women of good will!
