Pretty Scary supports all women in horror. Books, films, comics, if it is horror it is in!
Interview with Louise Bohmer.

"Born in the winter of 1976 in a small town in British Columbia, Canada, Ms. Bohmer’s fascination with all things obscure and unknown started at an early age. Her love of horror blossomed at the age of four while watching the 1970’s version of Dracula, starring Frank Langella. Although she was more interested in Renfield’s disgusting taste for bugs than she was in the suave Count!"

~Cue the atmospheric organ music~

A scary individual Louise has turned out to be, indeed! A writer who airs towards the dark and erotic, she doesn’t pull her punches when it comes to a bit of gratuitous sex!

She wrote throughout early childhood, but gave it up in her early twenties when she felt it wasn’t going anywhere. Her husband urged her to "get back on the horse", and she started cracking out books like there was no tomorrow. Once a writer always a writer; she waded in and made herself known amongst evil circles. But it’s not just enough anymore to be able to write. Or edit. Or proofread. Or format. Or publish your own work. Or design book covers.

Now you have to pretty much do all the following:

1. Host a forum.
Yahoo group, perhaps?
3. Have a
Myspace page, or three.
4. Have a Freewebs page.
5. Get a free
Authorsden page.
(These are ace by the way, writers. Yeah you… get one!!!)
6. Maintain memberships to all the ‘in’ places where writers hang out.
7. Get an affiliation with the
Horror Writers Association.
8. Open your own book shop online.
9. Open a
Cafepress shop.
10. Ermmm…

You get the idea though. Independent people work their butts off. Louise is no exception to that and she placed favourably in the cat fight at Preditors & Editors horror novels polls for 2006.

"Best Horror Novel of 2006’ 5th Place ~ FEAR -- An Anthology of Horror and Suspense!"
A big achievement for someone who had all but hung up their writing jock, huh?

She’s not a bad stick, our Louise--naughty and dark, but warm and embracing too. She’s also not opposed to the occasional bum-slap fest. Such is the life of a dark horror writer; now your buttocks must be made of Teflon to withstand the abuse that gets dished out. And that’s just by the people who like you!

Not happy "just to be writing", she took a position at a publishing house. An admirable pass time for any writer; what better way to learn, than to be surrounded in words all day! She’s happy as a pig in a poke. Maybe that’s all anyone should aspire to. What say?

Ms. Bohmer now works full-time editing, and writing from her home in New Brunswick, Canada. Louise is a staff editor for Lachesis Publishing, and she has edited for Whiskey Creek Press, their Torrid Erotic Romance line, Wicked Karnival Magazine, and, in the early days of the now defunct small press magazine, she was also co-publisher of Wicked Karnival. Louise would love to hear from anyone, and I mean anyone at all, who has an interest in her work, or an interest in developing their own. Help in abundance, offered from an accomplished writer, should be grabbed with both hands!

"Whatever your creative medium is, we welcome you to join Dark Prose ~ Decadent Delights forum, to share and promote your work with us!"

Her available works include FEAR - An Anthology of Horror,  Suspense and Lust. She has also been featured in the delectable Andrea Dean Van Scoyoc’s "Twisted Dreams" magazine.
Also coming later this year from the dark one, "The Black Act". is her main site. It accepts "over-18’s" only, please. It’s very, very naughty!

We wish “Loucifer” every success in her writing and it has been a pleasure to pimp her good shit.
