the plot summary of my short film "Anbulla Amma" (with love...to my beloved mother)

As this story is about life of the common people, it does have a particular place. so somewhere, it starts, a thief is being chased by few people. the thief goes hiding in a darkened hut. jayakumar, the main character in the story, is living in that hut. he looks like he is in deep distress. to the horror of the thief, who is now hiding in a corner of the hut, jayakumar, the inhabitant of the hut, prepares to hang himself. at the last moment jayakumar changes his mind and comes out of the rope sobbing. after some time , consoling himself jayakumar starts to write a letter to his mother. then the disturbance comes in form of the neighbors who are looking for the thief. they ask jayakumar to come with them to search the thief. jayakumar refuses saying he is not in the mood. the neighbors get angry and starts to boo him.jayakumar shuts the door on the neighbors. the neighbors continue to abuse him. loosing his mind jayakumar smashes everything he got in his hut. while doing so the thief comes out of his hiding place. jayakumar couldn't believe this. he thinks the thief is another disturbance. he jumps for the death knot. but doing so he fells on the ground and gets hit on the temple and dies on the spot. scene changes. all the possessions of jayakumar are thrown into the waste yard. the film ends with the shot of the unfinished letter which he started to write to his mother wavering in the wind.Author: ge.koshi

That is brilliant, apart from the bit where he sees the thief and in doing so decides to kill himself? I mean wouldn't you go for some kind of twist here, like the thief tells him, "I thought I had it bad but you...you have made me see sense in my life." Or something along those lines. And then you can have Jayakumar do whatever he has to....ie kill himself, or the thief kills him or he becomes a swami and seeks liberation from these infernal human realities. And why do Jayakumars possessions get thrown to the waste dump? Have another twist like the thief doesn't even want that guys possessions because he feels so sorry for him. And what does this all have to do with J's mother? What about his Mum? Okay just adding a few pointers here, for you to think about. Other than that it did have me intrigued.
