I am re-posting my poem/song in its original form, which I wrote back in 1974. I had it posted earlier (July 07, 2004), which I had slightly revised. I pulled it from my Den due to a publishing company (without having my written permission), turning it into a song titled: “Let Love Begin.” There was a copyright dispute as to the original Author of this poem/song. There have been derived versions of my poem posted on various websites using the titles of: “Let Love Begin” and “Ready For Love.” However, due to the fact, that I had my original poem legally notarized in the 1980's, I have had the other versions removed from every website where I could find it, except one. I am now hoping that since the owner of the website also has an original notarized hard copy of my poem, he too, will respect my copyrights and remove it promptly. Unfortunately all production and its re-release have been temporality suspended (at least by the publishing company that produced and promoted it). Nevertheless, they and The United States Copyright Office, which is located in Washington, D.C. have recognized me as being the original Author and have returned all copyrights back to me. Therefore, I am re-posting my poem/song in its original form along with the derived version titled: “Let Love Begin,” which has been recorded in Nashville, TN. My poem/song has been brought to life by the magnificent voice and wonderful talents of: Mr. Scott Word. Let Your Love Begin
Honey, take my trembling hand and lead the way,
please tell me everything you really want to say,
walking and whispering softly into my straining ear,
for all my life I’ve prayed for things I wanted to hear.
Hold me tight, kiss my lips and caress my skin,
help me to bring out my passions, deep within,
sliding and guide me closer and hold me near,
allow me once more to live without pain and fear.
Bring me out from within the darkness of the night,
forever to be my beacon of hope, shining so bright,
stretch out your wings in the brightness of the sun,
cast away these demons, show me you are the one.
Baby, be there to give me some wings so I can fly,
for I can only soar above it all, when you’re nearby,
side by side, enter my heart, break down this wall,
it’s way beyond time and place to watch it fall.
I’ve been a rambling prisoner without any key,
break these iron chains, which shall set me free,
strip away my rusted armor and sorrows tonight,
you will find my love, I will never put up a fight.
Release my aching soul, to be held deeply within,
I am more than ready Baby, to let your love begin.

Hi Tom,
Damn good to see ya stop in & to know you are alive and kickin, just as you should be when someone appropriates your work...this is a beautiful song and being done in Nashville I assume its a kind of country sound...Keep up the good work & hope to see or hear from more of you in the not so distant future...Peace thru Song, Ed & Rufuz (w00f) |

Oh My Thomas, What beautiful work! I love to read something that flows so well and makes me FEEL what the author is saying. You my new friend do such a wonderful job. I can here the song play in my mind! Waiting to read more................

I'm glad to see you posting again, Thomas. I remember you saying something about this before. It's disheartening that people don't respect the written work of others. I was a bit disturbed when I noticed on my personal NexusNord/WritingJunkie site visits from Hallmark.com in my stats. I thought, if a writer there took some of my poetry and "adapted" it to a greeting card, I'd never know. I certainly don't have time to run around reading greeting cards. I've also had recording companies snoop around. I'm glad you got this resolved. It's so important to make sure we have proof of who posted what first these days. But probably the music industry is the biggest threat because that's the fastest track to turning a single poem into serious cash. And doggone it, that's a beautiful song! Scott can sing too. :-) Wonderful voice. ~~Nordette
