What is your dream? Has your vision become blurred? Has opposition, discouragement, or adversity caused your to lose sight of the vision God has given to you? Did you carry the dream for about six months only to decide that it will never come to pass and then abort it? Or is your dream somewhere deep down inside of you?

What is your dream? Has your vision become blurred? Has opposition, discouragement, or adversity caused your to lose sight of the vision God has given to you? Did you carry the dream for about six months only to decide that it will never come to pass and then abort it? Or is your dream somewhere deep down inside of you? Langston Hughes wrote a poem entitled, “Dream Deferred”. What happens to a dream deferred? What happened to your dream?  Are you prepared to see your dream become a reality? Get out of the boat! If you want to talk on water, you have to get out of the boat. It is time to create the atmosphere to make that dream a reality.

Here are some tools for creating an atmosphere for your dreams to become reality:

Know that He can do anything!

“Is anything too hard for the Lord? God can do anything you know – far more than you could ever imagine or guess or request in your wildest dreams! He does it not by pushing us around but by working within us, his Spirit deeply and gently within us.”

-Ephesians 3: 20

Dream big! Whatever dream God has given you, that is only the tip of the iceberg. He is capable of bigger.  God is will do greater than you can ask or think according to the power that works in you. What is that power? Faith is a key ingredient to making your dream a reality. Abraham was fully persuaded that God would do what He promised. God promised Abraham and Sarah a child. They were considered past the age of having children by the world’s standards. Abraham knew that God could do anything. If God promised it, He will perform it. At the age of 100 and 90 respectively, God made their dream a reality.

Even though God called Abraham and placed a dream in his heart, he was required to obey and walk in faith. It’s the same today. If you want the kind of results Abraham got, then you have to walk by faith like he did. God is going to make that dream come true . It’s just a matter of time. God says that if you don’t get weary and don’t faint, then you will reap in due season.

Know Where You’re Going

“For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace…”

-         1 Corinthians 14:33a

Is this dream really from God? Does your dream line up with the word of God? If you are confused about your dream, it will never come true . You cannot change where you are unless you are sure of where you’re going. Seek God. He has the answers. He knows exactly where this vision, dream, or ministry is going. He knows the next step you should take. God has a plan for that dream, vision, or ministry. Know the plan, then run with it.

Pray and ask God for a clear vision. Ask God to direct your path. God has big plans for you. He knows the plans He has for you. Seek Him for direction. Tune your ear to His still small voice so that you don’t miss the opportunities He has set up for you.

Write the Vision Down

“ And the Lord answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it.”

Habakkuk 2:2

Get a journal. Write down the vision as God gave it to you. The dream that God gave you; is the dream God gave you. Read it over and over again. When doubt comes, read the vision. When fear comes, read the vision. Reading the vision will help you keep your focus. Reading the vision will motivate you.

Have a plan written down. When you make your divine connection, you will need to be able to present your dream to others. God always has a ram in the bush.  Set goals for yourself. Write your goals down. Refer back to them so you can see what God has done.

Shut Up to Be Blessed

“ And, behold, thou shalt be dumb, not able to speak, until the day that these things shall be performed, because thou believest not my words, which shall be fulfilled in their season.”

-Luke 1: 20

Sometimes you have to shut up to be blessed. Zacharias and Elizabeth were also promised a child. They were old like Abraham and Sarah. God sent an angel to tell Zacharias that the miracle was on the way. He did not believe it. So, God shut his mouth. Why did God shut his mouth during Elizabeth’s pregnancy? So he wouldn’t mess up the blessing. What might have happened? His doubt and negative attitude may have caused Elizabeth to miscarry.

There are times when you just have to shut up! Everyone is not going to be happy for you. Some people are going to tell you that it is impossible to realize that dream. Other people’s disbelief can cause you to abort you mission. You cannot share everything God gives you with everybody. Think about this, Zacharias was Elizabeth’s husband. Opposition may very well come from those closest to you.

Associate With the Right People

“Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend.”

-         Proverbs 27: 17

Don’t associate with people who are always saying, “ That’s impossible! It cannot be done. No way!” Love them, pray for them, minister to them, and keep it moving. Don’t allow those people to bring you down to their level. As a man thinks in his heart, so is he.

Association is important. The people you associate with can either make or break you. It is imperative that you associate with people of faith. Get around people whose vision is greater than yours. Let them pull you up to their level. Find people who believe God for big things! Associate with people who exercise walk on water faith in their own lives.

Replay Previous Victories

“David said moreover, The Lord that delivered me out of the paw of the lion, and out of paw of the bear, he will deliver me out of the hand of this Philistine. And Saul said unto David, Go, and the Lord be with thee.”

-1 Samuel 17:37

Whatever dominates your thoughts will direct your life. Your memory is filled with failures and successes. Which do you look to the most? A wonderful mother in Zion says, “Think about what you’re thinking about”. If you are always focused on your lack, short comings, and inadequacies, nothing good will happen to you.

Look at your successes. You serve an unchanging God. You don’t know how or when, but He will do it again. He will always show Himself strong for you. Thank God for what He has already done. Focus on your abilities, anointing, and resources that you already have. This is a way to stay focused on your dream. Make a list of your successes. Make a list of the provision God has already provided for your dream. Read that list out loud every time Satan tells you that your dream is impossible. After all, he is the father of lies.

Focus on the Goal

“I’m not saying I have this all together, that I have it made. But I am well on my way, reaching out for Christ, who has wondrously reached out for me. Friends don’t get me wrong: By no means do I count myself an expert in all this, but I’ve got my eye on the goal, where God is beckoning us onward- to Jesus. I’m off and running, and I’m not turning back.”

-         Philippians 3:12-14

Do not allow fear to seize you. God has not given you a spirit of fear. Staying focused on God will help you focus on the goal. Where will your help come from?  Your help comes from the LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth. He will not allow your foot to slip; your Protector will not slumber. Indeed, your Protector does not slumber or sleep. The LORD protects you; the LORD is a shelter, He is right by your side. The LORD will protect you from all harm; He will protect your life. Don’t focus on the things you cannot control. God is taking care of that. Focus on your goal.

Let go of the past and focus on God’s dream for your future. Don’t focus on or think about what happened in the past. Use the past to keep you focused on your dream. You cannot change the past. Don’t look to the left or the right. Stay focused on the dream God gave you. God is calling you towards your dream. Get up on your feet. Take off running and don’t turn back.

Pursue, Never Give Up

“And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence and the violent take by force.”

-         Matthew 11:12

Be a mover and a shaker. Pursue your dream relentlessly. The word of God says, faith without works is dead. When God gives you a dream, it is a call to action. Satan obviously does not want you to fulfill the dreams God has given you. If he can make you think what God has promised you is not going to happen, you won’t pursue it. Understand that a delay is not a denial. God is working in areas you don’t see.

Are you willing to fight for your dreams to come true ? God told Daniel that his prayer was heard the first time. The prince of Persia was holding up the blessing. Michael the Archangel had to fight to bring it through. Pursue your dream; pray for it…praise for it…hope against hope for it. Revolutionize your tactics. Never give up.

Sow Toward Your Dream

“Remember: A stingy planter gets stingy crop; a lavish planter gets a lavish crop. I want each of you to take plenty of time to think it over, and make up your mind what you will give.”

-         2 Corinthians 9:6

Do you want your dream to come to pass? Get involved in helping someone else’s dream come true . In order to get something you don’t have; you must plant something you do have. If you want an orange tree, what must you do? Plant a seed, an orange seed. Every seed produces its own kind.

What do you believe God for? If you make something happen for others, God will make something happen for you! If you have let go of some of your dreams, God says that you can recover them. If the dream is dead, ask God to resurrect it. If you are unsure of what God has in store for you, walk by faith and not by sight. He knows your beginning and your end. Create an atmosphere for your dreams to come true . Spend time with your Father… be intimate with Him… pursue Him. Give Him back the dreams He gave you and watch Him move.
