A Prayer for Courage
I pray for myself and all my brothers and sisters of the earth that you would give us the inner strength, the courage to follow our hearts and the desires of our eternal souls more than the praise, or the approval of common thought.
Each one of us dear God is made in your very image and likeness and yet we still maintain our own individuality as a unique creation. Not one of us is alike, even identical twins are not completely alike for they possess a divine spirit and eternal soul.
Give us the courage therefore God to be who we were created to be…and nothing else. This starts with a realization that there is a power that is beyond our humanness and yet within our grasp. A God who is ever present and one that comes along side of us to help us in time of need.
You are not an impersonal God, but rather a personal God…one we can rely upon completely knowing our Father-Mother will never abandon us or let us down. Those around us in their humanness can let us down, disappoint us, fail us, and abandon us…but not you dear God.
Grant us the awareness of this closeness of Spirit which is no further than our breath or a thought away.
Let this awareness of your divinity inside us be conscious, instead of unconscious. Enlighten us and bring us into the soul’s evolution that we want and need.
We seem broken God, and yet in our hearts we are complete with you. No person on earth can complete us…only you and that conscious connection we have with you will allow us to experience completeness…wholeness of being.
You oh God are the missing piece of our puzzle in life. You alone oh God can fulfill the deepest longings and yearnings of our souls. Sex cannot fulfill it…alcohol cannot help us…drugs will only cause us to go to sleep in our souls. Money cannot fulfill this deep yearning of our hearts…only you God can give us the fulfillment our souls calls out for.
Grant us the courage to go forward knowing that we do not traverse this barren land called the earth without your presence. You will pick us up when we fall and gather us when we die in the bosom of God we truly dwell.
Let each one of my friends that read this prayer feel the spark and intensity of God within their hearts. Bless them oh God with much courage to fulfill this great mission and plan you have for us all.
Amen, and so be it.
