Knit slippers are the perfect thing to keep your feet warm when the weather turns cool. Slippers also make great holiday gifts. Knitting the slippers yourself allows you to add that personal touch.
These knit slippers were one of the first patterns I created. I’ve made many pairs for myself and given several away as gifts. I am an average knitter and I can complete a pair of slippers in a weekend.
Pattern for Knit Slippers
These slippers are knit using two strands of worsted weight yarn held together. The yarn can be the same color; or use two complementary colors to achieve a tweed effect.
I knit my slippers with size 8 needles to produce a snug fabric that is warm and durable. A tapestry needle is needed for finishing.
Gauge is not terribly important as I used my foot as a guide; it is most important to have a durable fabric. I made these slippers to fit my size 7 feet. Adjustments are easy to make to knit these slippers in other sizes.
