A sharing of our Christmas holiday.
The Christmas season is here again and with it comes the hustle and bustle of getting ready for that special night when Santa will arrive.
It's been very busy for me this year.
I'm a member of the Peace River Center For Writers. Each year we sponsor a program to give gifts to needy kids, plus we put on a Christmas play for them.
I began collecting donations in June and was able to get gifts for sixty kids. Others helped also and we collected enough for 120 boys and girls.
The play was held on Dec 2, 2009 with good attendance and media coverage. Door prizes consisting of two bikes ,many large stuffed animals, gift certificates and free pizzas made the event more exciting.
The play , "Santas Got The Flu" was written by Dot Minzer and children from a local elementry school sang various Chritsmas songs. It was an exciting event and well received by the community.
We also gave some gifts to a family with six children whose parents are out of work.
Each year I buy extra gifts for a mother of three who is a single parent, to help her give her children a better Christmas.
Our family is growing and expanding.
On Christmas eve many of us go to the Candlelight service at our church and then go our daughter, Debbies house.
Adults and children gather in the living room as I read "The Night Before Christmas" and "The Story of The Nativity". It has become a yearly tradition which all seem to enjoy.
We also have a family Christmas and dinner each year .Those who can come are there ! We exchange gifts and have a lot of fun being together. Its a time of sharing the blending of hearts and spirits as we enjoy companionship and comrodiary of our family.
I always hang an angel on the Christmas tree in memory of my mother and little grandson Joshua.
I feel very blessed to have so many children ! I'm thankful for the richness of love and kinship we share.
There will be eighteen for our family tree and twenty two for Christams dinner!!! GOD is good! We count our blessings !
MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL. May Gods light brighten your home this holiday season and always....MaryGrace

What a wonderful idea and I love the title of the play. How cool is that?

|MaryGrace, you have it just right my dear friend -- Christmas is only about the sharing, the love, family and the family of man -- just as God shared the gift of eternal life to mankind with the birth of His Son, our Saviour, Jesus Christ -- peace and love to you and a very Merry Christmas|
