Dreaded car trouble; and remembering back when a vehicle was built to last.
I never thought I would be saying....back in my day......

Car trouble...things just ain't what they used to be...

LOL. except that I hate car trouble. If I am by myself and the car acts sick I can go from  La La La  to hysterical in a Na-no-second.

We were driving home from the shops yesterday...technically himself was driving but I am always a help....when the transmission started to act odd; the car started to shake and the transmission warning light shone like a happy little beacon saying..."trouble."

The good news is that the car is still under warranty and it is a lease vehicle so we are talking inconvenience rather than cost. The bad news though is that this is the second major problem this two year old car has experienced, not a good sign. We were almost convinced that we would buy it when the lease expires next year; maybe not! The tow truck is here this morning loading her onto his truck and himself is going with, to the work shop. We have been promised wheels while the car is under repair so we won't be isolated over the weekend and himself can get back home some time today.

The car is a Dodge....we had a Dodge back in the mid fifties in Australia when farming suddenly became lucrative; wool and wheat prices soared and all the farmers bought beautiful big American cars to show off their new found prosperity. Other people bought the Australian "Holden" or took a bus.

Our Dodge was a blue/grey color and about a mile long with winged trimmings at the back. A wonderful gas guzzling prestige acquisition with leather seating and a radio. Dad loved it, we all loved it, and it was the family car for about 12 years. Other than the occasionally flat tire I don't ever remember having trouble with that Dodge ...THINGS JUST AIN'T WHAT THEY USED TO BE.
