Before we get into the next person who is or will be against Christ's remnant, we need to keep in mind "there is a way that seems right to man but is the way to destruction." This time, we are reviewing the era of children rising up lawless: both that of committing crimes of the land, i.e. theft, drugs, murder, to name just a few, and/or violations against God. The following scriptures give us the understanding of "the children shall rise up lawless." We begin in the New Testament then back to the Old Testament, all of which spoke to the Philadelphia age and speak to where we are today in Laodicea:
—— Matthew 10:21~; Mark 13:12~ "The children shall rise up against their parents and cause them to be put to death." I Timothy 1:9-10 "Know this, that the law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and disobedient . . . for murderers of fathers and mothers, for manslayers . . . any other thing that is contrary to sound doctrine."
—— Exodus 20:12 "Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee. Proverbs 1:8 Hear [obey] the instruction of thy father, and forsake not the law of thy mother. (6:20) Keep thy father's commandment, and forsake not the law of thy mother. (15:20) A foolish man despiseth his mother. (20:20) Whoso curseth his father or his mother, his lamp shall be put out in obscure darkness. (28:24) Whoso robbeth his father or his mother, and saith, 'It is no transgression;' the same is the companion of a destroyer. (29:15) The rod and reproof give wisdom: but a child left to himself bringeth his mother to shame."
—— (Proverbs 30:11-14,17) "There is a generation that curseth their father, and doth not bless their mother. There is a generation that are pure in their own eyes, and yet is not washed from their filthiness. There is a generation, O how lofty are their eyes! And their eyelids are lifted up. There is a generation, whose teeth are as swords, and their jaw teeth as knives, to devour the poor from off the earth, and the needy from among men. The eye that mocketh at his father, and despiseth to obey his mother, the ravens of the valley shall pick it out, and the young eagles shall eat it."
—— The above makes clear when this rising to lawlessness occurs, for the eagles are not called to the feast until Christ is in our clouds and the wicked have fallen dead across the planet. And, God's opinion is clear about what He means by the children rising up lawless; for if they disobey God, they surely will disobey laws of the land. Now, meet a young man that many of you might know by his appearances on TBN or at rallies in your home town, and you might think he is doing great work for God. But, is he?
—— Birmingham: Matt (Matthew?) Pit, born and raise in Roebuck, Ala; diagnosed with ADD, into drugs in high school, graduated in 2001, and early into his University of Alabama days, from which he did not graduate. He was not only an addict experimenting with but also selling drugs. Once, his parents visited the college and asked him to a football game, during which he overdosed; they took him home to Roebuck. One evening his Dad went down to the basement where Matt was staying, and said he would no longer support Matt's ways: either shake the addiction or live homeless. Dad led him to the Lord.
—— Wherever his young people meet, Mat calls it "The Basement" because that is where his father led him to the Lord in their home; however, his business side is called "Whosoever Ministries," which originally moved into a small church, then to several larger churches as his movement grew; until they finally moved into Cathedral of The Cross in Roebuck.
—— Now they are in Pastor Chris Hodges' Church of The Highland in Birmingham: 33rd largest mega-church in the US, up from 71st last year, and the 11th largest growing mega-church: service times are Sunday 8am, 9:30am, 11:30am, 6pm; Wednesday at 7pm, on weekends they have 18 services at seven different campuses. Matt's ministry does not promote a specific denomination, rather he aids learning about Christ then encourages the young to join any local 'Orthodox' denomination where they might feel 'comfortable'.
—— Matt also travels the country reminding youth that Christ loves them no matter where they are or what they have done. He also helps Youth Pastors all over the nation and draws about 6000 young people to a unique worship experience every Tuesday night in the City he is visiting. He said he uses whatever it takes to draw in the young: laser lights, smoke machines and popular music, and says there is even a Christian reality show in the works. Matt hits the stage with an outrageous energy and is competing against bars and clubs to pull in young people to learn more about God, which he calls "The Fix." He also appears on Day Star and TBN networks.
—— Pastor Chris Hodges is known for bringing in and encouraging future leaders of the church and was delighted to bring Matt into Highland for Hodges' mentoring.
—— Matt and Church of The Highland's Statement of Faith:
1. "We are saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ, His death, burial and resurrection. Salvation is a gift from God, not a result of our good works or of any human effort."
2. "The Bible and only the Bible is the authoritative Word of God. It alone is the final authority determining all doctrinal truth. In its original writings it is inspired and infallible and inerrant."
3. "It is the Father's will for believers to become whole, healthy and successful in all areas of life; but because of the fall [of Adam] many may not receive the full benefit of God's will while on earth. This facto should never prevent all believers from seeking the full benefit of Christ's provision in order to better serve others. Provisions are: 1. Spiritual; 2. Mental and Emotional; 3. Physical; and, 4. Financial."
4. "After living one life on earth, the unbelievers will be judged by God and sent to hell where they will be eternally tormented [along] with the Devil and fallen angels."
5. "Jesus Christ will physically and visibly return to earth for the second time to establish His kingdom. This will occur at a date undisclosed by the scriptures."
God's Logic: No doubt, Matt has brought in hundreds of thousands of young people and, in Jesus' name, has helped them get off drugs and/or out of criminal activities. Albeit, he has done this by using one of Satan's favorite tools: the wild side of music, lasers, smoke machines, excessively loud noise and songs that one cannot even hear the words over the noise. Many are singing Matt's praises and, while Matt has done a good work for others, he has offended God every bit as much as those men who told Jesus about their good acts yet Christ replied, "I know you not." It is one thing to preach Jesus and quite another to omit God's Law, the one thing that causes one to be called great in heaven; which brings us to Matt and Highland's beliefs:
—— Noted right off are the Bible and Jesus but no mention of God's Ten Statutes and the need to "Obey God's Commandments." It is virtually the same Statement of Faith as that of Steve Kreloff, whom we reported on in our last Extra Oil. God's opinion is expressed below about each of the statements and in the order in which they appear above:
1. God's grace and salvation are not one and the same. His grace was in allowing man to continue living by giving man one last chance to get His Will right. His Son was God's answer to that chance, Christ, who did extend the offer of salvation by allowing His spilled blood to wash us clean of our "past" sins, IF we accepted Him as God's Son, then thereafter instructing that we "go and sin no more."
—— Nowhere does the Word say His blood also covered all our future sins; in fact, quite the contrary: "There is no further atonement for he who knowingly sins thereafter." Albeit, we do continue to sin after the initial repentance but only because we do not know the weightier matters of God's Law; yet, Christ's blood will cover those sins as long as we never repeat them again after learning those weightier matters: ignorance, however, is no excuse to continue in sin. Thus, it is highly recommended that one seek to know and understand the weightier matters, as Jesus said, "Ought to be taught."
2. It is agreed that the Bible IS the authoritative Word of God; however, there is no way that only the original texts are the inspired Word of God. It has been proven, that while many translations are flawed, the Authorized King James Version is not and was inspired by God; else prophecies of the Sardis and Philadelphia eras could not have come to pass.
—— Additionally, to have made such a statement IS to imply imperfections and a lack of harmony in ALL translations, including the AKJV, and to imply that the only way to get God's Truth is to be able to read the original scrolls, which is impossible for the masses. Since church leaders know it is impossible, the next implication is that they are the only ones who can teach God's Word: a denial that "babes perfect praise and truth." Babes could not do that were it not for the first and only "divine" translation of only the holy scrolls: the AKJV Bible, for the first time made available to the entire world in 1611 A.D.
3. Jesus said, "I have chosen the poor of this world," and, "Sell all that you have, give it to the poor and follow me." In other Bible treatises, God has shown that healing of the flesh is not guaranteed Christ's followers, yet healing of the flesh can occur but healing of our spirit being is a given, which covers mental and emotional factors.
—— It is obvious and true of mega-churches and others that they preach prosperity contrary to Christ's teaching of poverty with the promise of not going without necessities: food, clothing, shelter.
4. First, trial/judgment and sealing/marking took place during the Philadelphia era. Second, such teaching implies "everlasting life" even to the wicked; except theirs is in perpetual torment and ours in perpetual paradise. Yet, the wicked will not be tormented "forever." That would be the work of a cruel god. Our God is merciful.
—— While the wicked will not sleep, as do those dead in Christ, and they will be weeping, wailing and gnashing their teeth until the second resurrection a thousand years later, the only thing tormenting them is the fact they know to what they will be resurrected: utter destruction to never be remembered, death of both body and spirit. Neither God nor we will remember the wicked thereafter.
—— There is far too much Biblical evidence proving the wicked are not tormented by God, or that torment will be "forever;" albeit, to them a thousand years might feel like forever. The dead in Christ, on the other hand and no matter how many years or centuries in the grave, will arise in the first resurrection feeling as if they slept only one night.
5. First, Christ is not coming the second time to establish His kingdom on earth. He is coming to deliver every man's sentence of death or innocence and to harvest/claim His sheep; taking them up to the clouds then escorts them "to the safe haven of heaven." Jesus will establish His kingdom on earth 1000 years and 3 months later; after evil is utterly destroyed and earth is made new. The teaching that Christ will establish His kingdom "before" earth is made new is followed by saying He will spend that 1000 years teaching the wicked; after which the wicked who do not repent will be destroyed.
—— Already, this contradicts the Orthodox Church's 4th Statement of Faith. Their premise does not hold up to God's scrutiny. After all, He says that during the 1000 years earth will have her Sabbath rest, she will not even turn on her axis or nourish anything to growth, even that she is desolate: just like she was in Genesis 1:1, an abyss absent of all life. Why then would Jesus or we be here for that? There will not even be gravity to anchor us to earth for that 1000 years.
—— Having presented Matt and Hodge's beliefs as well as that of all "Orthodox Christian Churches," then compared to God's Word, it is hoped that readers comprehend how "there is a way that seems right to man but leads to destruction;" how our young have risen up lawless during Philadelphia and even more in this last era of Laodicea. How, like Matt, the Orthodox churches will "do whatever it takes," which is Satan's mantra that is far from God and Christ's hearts. We have only to remember that Jesus was a living example of our Father's Will, and He never embraced or approved of anything offensive to God or a part of paganism in order to bring someone to God. As shown in last week's Extra Oil, they preach another Jesus.
—— Remember when Pope John Paul II was on his deathbed and the young assembled by the thousands in the Vatican's outer court? After advising the Pope of their presence, the Cardinal caring for him delivered the Pope's dying words to them: "I called and you came." Just that, nothing else. Alas, Matt Pit is one of our young called by Satan's ministers who only seem to be light. Obviously, Satan did put out a call to our youth, else God would not have written about them rising up lawless over the last 167 years.
—— No matter how much good Matt Pit has done for teenagers and young adults today, for which many parents are grateful, most especially his own, Matt cannot say he obeys God's Commandments or that he teaches others to do the same. This begs the question, what example did his parents set? Matt clearly violates the fourth precept, which is God and Christ's seal of authority, as well as lies by omission. Matt neither obeys nor teaches God's Law; thus, Jesus has said, "I know you not." Matt's good is not good enough.
—— The one thing Christ said repeatedly was "Do my Father's Will." Remember, Jesus rejected the men who did good for others in Jesus name but could not say they obeyed His Father's Law; on the other hand, He accepted the one man who came saying he obeyed all of God's Law since a child. To that man Jesus said, "Well you do, but you have one thing left to do," then instructed him to go sell all that he had, give it to the poor and follow Him. Instead of Christ rejecting him, the man rejected Jesus in order to keep his considerable riches. Either way, the world's pull is strong, but remember that either Christ's rejection of a person or man's rejection of Jesus means utter destruction.
