Remember the episode of 'Star Trek' where Kirk and Spock hung out on a planet for the entire show?
No?
That's because:
'Hanging out' has nothing to do with 'Going where no man has gone before'.
Rather than 'hang out', take empowerment from the second Star Trek episode, Where No Man Has Gone Before. Helmsan Mitchel (Gary Lockwood) has his brain powers boasted and develops telepathic and telekinetic powers.
Though he ends up letting his ego and arrogance use those powers to control people, the episode can still inspire us to enhance our powers and use them for good.
The episode's name is the first time use of the phrase "Where No Man Has Gone Before" in the series. The phrase would be used in the opening credits in following episodes. Star Trek: The Next Generation would change the word 'man' to 'one' to include both genders of us 'universal travelers'.
Let's not waste our time 'hanging out'. Let's go 'where no one has gone before'.
