"The Big Tobacco companies are deeply engaged in enhancing the effects of nicotine through the use of other chemical elements such as ammonia. The tobacco industry uses this technology known as “Ammonia Chemistry.” In general terms, the process to manipulate nicotine is known as “impact boosting.” Impact boosting allows for the nicotine to be more rapidly absorbed by the lungs; and therefore, affect the brain and central nervous system."

Dr. Jeffrey Wigand.

I recently quit smoking cigarettes after forty years. I did it with electronic cigarettes. It delivers the nicotine, (and only the nicotine,) to me via a vaporizer.
I’ve still smoked real cigarettes since, but far less than before. I had a pack a day habit, and suffered chronic Bronchitis since I began smoking. There is one thing though, my friend, who is also my therapist, a recovering smoker himself confirmed. He said, “Yeah, I tried those E-Cigs for a while, but when you quit smoking those regular cigarettes you don’t get the same head rush as with commercial smokes.”
I noticed this as well. I haven’t talked with any other E-Cig users, but I have had firsthand experience.
Cigarette companies add something to their product that enhances, or speeds up the processes of nicotine crossing the blood-brain barrier to give the user an immediate rush of nicotine. You might relate this to the new age of delivery systems, like the vaporizers for smoking marihuana.

What else are they doing in secret under the protection of lobbyists? I wonder why the tobacco companies are not subject to the FDA regulations about listing the ingredients of its product on the label, as is required for Ramen Noodles?

So, what else?
It’s time we asked and got answers. If the tobacco companies have deliberately been enhancing their product to addict people, they owe us.

Walt, the only thing I know is that nicotine is supposedly more addictive than heroin! As a former smoking dummy it was very hard for me stop that nasty habit. I did it cold turkey. No patches no nicotine laced chewing gum no hypnosis. It was a formidable challenge. I am glad it is long behind me. As for what goes into some of he packaged for you eat, you don't want to know that either. I bid you love and peace my dear friend. Jon Michael

I remember in 1963 when a tobacco rep came to talk to an auditorium full of us high school students about smoking addiction. I asked him if the industry could be putting something in the cigarette paper that caused addiction. He got a funny look on his face, said no real quick and then moved onto the next question. I've always wondered about that answer.
